Talking FT: Custom 5 string James Bass (warwick/spector inspired)

Sign in to disble this ad
This is a beautiful exotic James bass built by a guy in Seattle. This is bass #2 out of about a dozen that he has made.

I love this bass but I am looking to trade it for a custom 4 string bass that I like. The neck on this is a bit bulky for me.

To give you an idea of value, I traded a near mint rickenbacker for it. It was so beautiful that I was hoping the neck would grow on me, but after 5 years it hasn't.

The shape is remniscent of a warwick and the contour body is reminiscent of a spector.

Very nice selection of exotic woods. There are no functional issues and for all intents and purposes it appears mint.

Some of the woods, Mahogany body, maple pickup rings, beautiful cocobolo fretbboard, maple and lacewood neck, matching wooden back cover,

Some of the feautures: Contoured body for comfortable fit, shielding, Carvin pickups, beautiful wooden pickup rings, countersunk bridge, 5 string, abalone dots, slanted neck heel for access, beautifully laminated headstock, custom wooden truss cover, gotoh tuners.

I cannot include money on my end because I have family situation to attend to this summer. I can accept multiple items or cash to make thedifference up on your side.

Thanks,
Joe

Is that a OLP neck plate I see? Just curious...

Why yes it is... the only neck plate he could find with the correct shape. If you consider that skimping (which it really isn't) then that is the only part he skimped on.

I am willing to trade this for another bass in the $900-$1100 range straight up... even though the rick i traded would be worth more than that

Bump! I have a James bass (an Eden fretless) and it is really really nice. There is very little mention of this builder on TB but I have been quite happy with mine.
