FT: Dingwall ABI / Near-Mint

This is a feeler. IOW, if I don't see anything I like, I'll keep the Dinger and delete the thread.

I have two but this one rarely sees any gig time as I rely mainly on an older purpleburst (?) which now sports an Audere preamp. Here's an earlier pic with the candidate sitting smack-dab in the middle:

Story has it that this particular ABI arrived with a wonky trussrod, was shipped back to the shop, and re-fitted with a new neck complete with graphite reinforcements. I have never attempted to verify this. Everything else is original and in perfect working order. Weighs in ~9 lbs or slightly under and comes with a hardshell case.

Trades? I'd really like to get my hands on another Lakland 55-94 (maybe a 55-02) but open to other suggestions. A few criteria:

*5 strings only

*9 lbs or under

*Well balanced

*Nitro or poly body finish

*Excellent / mint condition

*I'm willing to add funds... to an extent

*I'm willing to trade down with cash from your side (example: 55-02)

Please PM me with any offers or questions. I'll try to snag some addt'l pics...in the meantime, my word is as good as gold: you'll be getting essentially a brand-new bass.

May be an option in the future but limited to trades / cash +/- at the moment.

Have you drilled additional holes in that ABZ5? Maybe you want to sell it? Very interested.

That one is gone. I can say nothing but nice things about the Combustion, ABZ, and ABI models...plus, they're the ones I can afford!

Still here and available! I could really use a Lakland (5594 or 02) just to change things out on occasion.

BTW, the passive AB-I and ABZ are great platforms for preamp upgrades if you're into that sort of thing. I stuck an Audere 2 band in my older AB-I and it positively sings. One of those EMG single stacked jobbys would be great, too.

Excellent! Actually, I don't have a clue as I'm 100% finger-style...can't slap worth a darn. I do my own set-ups so the thing is spot-on. You may want to consider asking other DW owners.

It's a 7240 from ~1987 which I have harnessed w/ a 1978 Sanyo tape deck, 1981 Dual turntable, and (2) JBL L19 speakers which I bought in '78 when I granulated from college. I'm now 54...do the math.

Having previously owned a AB1 these basses are amazing slap machines. It is amazing the tonal variety for these being a passive instrument

2nd I did business with Riis getting my AB-1 from him
1st class guy to work with

Correction: 2nd class guy as I'm home ill. Not sure if it's a cold, Ebola, or a rare STD I picked up in a Tijuana brothel last weekend. Whatever it is, I sure hope Mucinex and aspirin take care of it.

No interest in a trade, so...

...I'll offer it up for $1800 plus 1/2 shipping (~$20-25).

Funny - I've got a mint Lakland 55-02 Deluxe Limited Edition but I don't think I'm trading it. Love it too much!
