I'll add some other info about it later today. Trades and trade value? Not sure, surprise me! I've owned this for many years, but I still remember what I paid for it. |

So.....some more info on this bass. I believe this to be pre-New York production, so would have been made in the original ESP Japan shop maybe around '83-84. I checked with some seasoned folks on the ESP forum several years back and they verified this as a "real" ESP, possibly made for Masayoshi Yamashita of the Japanese band "Loudness". The the neck is marked either MY-49 or NY-49 - the first letter is written sort of strange. Not sure if that would be initials of that bassist or designation to be sold at New York's 48th Street Custom Guitars back in the day???
The general specs noted on that forum that point to Japan production include the bone nut instead of brass, Japan sourced pots/switch/jack, Gotoh tuners and bridge, pointed strap buttons, and although the pickups look like DiMarzios they are not...supposedly they were custom wound by ESP at that time. |

Medium jumbo frets - fretwear is next to nil but they could used polished as this thing just hasn't been getting played. The body is alder. The gold hardware has some of the usual wear in places but not too bad. Controls are master volume, mini switch for pickup selector and master tone, and it has a Tele style cup jackplate. |
