FT Feele Only: Marcus Miller Jazz 4 for your Warwick 5

Sign in to disble this ad
Strictly a feeler......What i have is a "well used" Marcus Miller Jazz 4 from Japan. "Well used" meaning it has been my main gigging bass for the last 4 years ,travelled overseas, and has been a big part of my sound, so it definitely has its share of battle scars(for good reason, though-PM me for more info). Here are the details: olympic white finish, Aguilar obp-1 preamp( huge amount of treble and bass boost), Nordstrand hum-cancelling split pups, non-stock tuners(Fender japan 70s reissue). This is an exceptionally responsive and articulate axe as well as quite verstaile-it looks sharp too.

Here's what I'm potentially looking for:
Warwick 5-strings( sorry but NO Corvette stds unless they are from before 99, and I'm very partial to wenge necks and Streamer body styles

I also am partial to Lakland Skyline 44-02 or 55-02 models
Shoot me a PM and again, this is strictly a feeler. I'm just trying to see whats out there. Cheers!

Bump.

I think that this is allowed, so at some point i will put up a tune from an artist I gig with that is a good showcase of the Marcus' sound (has a short little funky solo section). Cheers!

Not selling outright right now( unless you have what is mentioned in the original post). This may change, but for now this is just a FT feeler.

Thanks for the bump, Rob. I actually have been playing the snot out of a 76 P-bass I just got (p.s. I'm doing ALL of the festivals in town this season-we should catch up). Looks like I might have a deal w/ a 90s streamer coming through for a good price, so I might be closing this thread soon.....

Bump

Bump to see what's out there still....The most favorable trade would be a 90s Warwick Streamer bolt-on 5-string ( french cherry body, yep that one) OR a Lakland Skyline 44-02 or 55-02.

BUMPEROODLY-DOO w/ detailed pics

Still possibly looking for a Warwick or Lakland 5ver-hell, the more beat up/modded/ player-worn the better!
The good:
-finish has aged nicely to a creamy shade
-hardware, pre and pups are top quality
-tone and dynamic range-versatile and responsive
-beautiful board and great neck profile w/ skunk stripe, slightly hand sanded down to get rid of sticky gloss
-active/passive option
-threaded inserts for battery compartment
-frets in good shape
-has been only pro-setup
-it's been all over the states as well as to India with me!
-gets compliments whenever i gig it
The bad/uglyz;
-cig burn on headstock
-tiny drill holes thru headstock
-non-original tuners
-some body contours have small sanded down spots to get rid of dings (looooong story)
-screw stuck in body from where thumbrest laid between pickups( can ship w/ another pickguard)
-obvious players wear and tear, but for good reason

Let me know what you think.

Bumpage

For those who have PMed me, I'm not particularly interested in doing a cash sale right now. My main interest is a trade for Warwick 5-strings including:
Thumb bolt-on-any year/condition
Streamer bolt-on/Masterman/Jazzman/LX-any year/condition
Corvette/FNA/jazzman-any year/condition
or...If you have a particularly beat up Streamer Stage II....
Not particularly interested in a Corvette Std 5 as I already have a sweetheart of a std 4-string.
