FT Feeler: '05 Sadowsky Metro Modern M5-24 Olympic White for a RV5 PJ

I'm closing this thread to make it a FS/FT with more trade options

I picked up this Sadowsky M5-24 #M876 locally. I wanted the opportunity to try one with the intention that if it wasn't for me, I'd flip it.

Right now it's at Sadowsky Guitars in Long Island. (2/11 : It's back!) Roger said it was part of the second batch of Metro Moderns that they got in 2005. I'm having them install a VTC and do a complete setup with Blue Label Nickel strings. When I got it last week I put on a set of Blue Label Stainless Steels. They played great and I did a pretty good job of setting it up, but they were a little zingy for my pick style of playing. I wanted Roger's boys to completely check it over and get it to his standards.

The reason for the trade feeler is my goal has always been to score a NYC or Metro RV5 PJ or MV5 PJ or Will Lee 5. If one of you slap masters has one of those you'd like to trade for a Modern M5-24. I'm your man.

Before I shipped it, I weighed it on my postal scale. It's light! Just a couple of tenths under 9 pounds. The previous owner took excellent care of it and the case. The body is clean. No gouges scratches, dimples, dents or buckle rash. The neck and headstock are excellent as well, except for a small cymbal edge bump on the back of the neck around the 12th fret .The original owner had the back of neck sanded and refinished. You can see where it was but you cannot feel it. It's perfectly smooth. Great job.

I wanted to post this feeler ASAP to get the word out to see if anyone is interested in a trade. I already missed on one RV5 PJ recently (BFISHER1970's :(), don't want to miss another one.

Let me know if you're interested, eh?

I got a couple of PM's regarding an outright sale.

I have a very nice Fender American Standard P-Bass V. I wanted more oomph in my tone so I've been looking for an RV5-PJ to fill my desires. I had a Sadowsky HPJ4 (see my avatar) that I loved, but since going to 5 strings, ultimately sold. This Modern came along. It was so nice, I couldn't pass it up. Its tone was close to what I was looking for but a little too much " scooped zing". I really like the neck on it so my thought was that if the VTC calms it down, I could live with it for awhile. I'd keep the Fender and the Modern until the bass I really want, the RV5 PJ came along used and at a good price.

Make sense?

Makes sense to me. You'll love a pj5. I've had two

Just played it for a couple hours. They did a wonderful setup.
