FT Feeler: 1980 Pre-Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray!

I can't believe I'm doing this, that's why it's a for trade feeler for now. This Stingray plays great and sounds amazing, but so does my other Stingray and my other basses that are for sale aren't selling so I figured I don't really need two and this one has less sentimental value then my other one.

Ok, let's get down to business. This thing is definitely well played and is by no means a closet classic or anything like that but if you're like me and you like the vintage "mojo" look this is great. There's also some things that aren't original. The E-string tuner was replaced with a Fender D-tuner that looks pretty old itself but works perfect. The bridge was replaced too, I'm not sure what kind it is, it kind of looks like a Badass but I'm not sure. I just know that know routing or extra holes were drilled for it. Also the strap buttons were moved so now there is two extra holes. All of this is in the pictures.

Let's get to the pictures

Alright, as for trades, make me an offer I can't refuse! Offer me anything, but I am looking for a nice jazz or maybe a G&L L2000. Some things I like are MIA things, things with maple fretboards, active electronics...

Feel free to ask any questions and thanks for looking!

Also I'm not totally sure I want to do this yet and like you said in your listing I reserve the right to pull this if someone slaps some senses back into me

Just for your info, I believe that bridge is an old Schaller. It was popular up to the early '90s, I had a Sadowsky NYC jazz that came with it (in chrome) as first choice. It allows to choose any different string spacing, although you may be limited by the pu poles distance here.

Thanks for the info, I looked online and I'm pretty sure you're right. It's good to know I just wish that the previous owner left the original bridge on

More PMs replied. Hit the mark close but still haven't found "the one."

What is "the one?" You ask. Well other than then cherryburst/maple G&L L2000 I'm not too sure yet, too many basses to decide so keep offering away!

So I figured out two things I'm not looking for: another Stingray (or else I wouldn't be looking to trade this one) and a P Bass.

Buuut if you want to offer me one of those things for my other two basses on the block (see my sig) I would definitely consider it

I just recorded with my 77 Stingray yesterday, if you want an idea of what they sound like all the tracks on the website were recorded with my ray.

Alright so I'm putting this thread on hold for now. I'm leaving in 2 hours to go to New York to get on a cruise and I thought there was going to be at least wifi since my phone won't be on but now I just found out that wifi is only available at a ridiculous cost so that means no internet for now. I will revive this thread when I get back and feel free to still leave me a PM if you have a trade offer just don't be mad when I don't answer for a while.
So I'll see you TBers when I get back, be good!

So it turns out the boat leaves tomorrow so I'm staying at my cousins house here in the big apple tonight so that means one more night of internet so one more bump. Also I just received a sweet G&L L2000 trade offer which just might be what I want but still shoot me an offer if you have one I will have internet until around noon tomorrow.
