Let me preface this listing by telling you that I will most likely, in the end, wind up keeping this instrument for myself.. This is just a post to see what sort of options fly my way!
I traded my '83 Fender P for this 2006 EBMM Stingray a little over two months ago. I'm pretty smitten by the tone and feel of this instrument. The build quality is amazing, and the sounds I've been getting out of it are what I've been struggling to get out of my Precision for the past twelve or so years..
However- the neck is KILLING my fretting hand. Having had only ever owned and played Precision basses since 1995 and suddenly being the owner of a Stingray may have something to do with it. My hands are a little on the small side, and I've always battled with P necks but never to the point of pain and panic inducing injury. I practiced for a few hours yesterday and somehow managed to pull something in my palm, right below my left index finger..
I know I should probably just rework my overall technique, but at this point in my life, I'm kind of freaked out by this. I love this bass, but the neck is just too "flat" for me.
Which brings me here. This is a 2006 Ernie Ball MusicMan Stingray.
Natural finish, black pickguard, single pickup, 3 band EQ, 4 strings.
Hipshot D-tuner attached, comes with original tuner.
OHSC w/case candy.
It's in fantastic shape, overall.
There is some swirling on the pickguard and a couple of dings on the headstock but nothing extraordinarily offensive to the eye.
No problems with the G string.
Feel free to offer up anything you have that you think would better suit my needs. I'm looking for an easier neck to play, one that won't kill me! I've had my eyes on Laklands and (of course), Gibson Rippers.
As stated earlier, this is only a feeler.
I will probably take this down very soon, once my hand feels better.. I'm just curious to see what options may pop up!
