FT Feeler 2009 Musicman Stingray GC Limited Ebony board 4HH trade for Gibson TBIRD

Sign in to disble this ad
* * *This is only a feeler for a possible trade situation.* * *

What I am looking for in trade is really ONLY one thing.
A minty beautiful condition Gibson Thunderbird in the White color. Chrome or black hardware is fine...Chrome or black pups are fine as well. Should have fitted Gibson USA Case in clean shape.
Might consider a similar condition Gibson Tbird in the "Natural Burst" finish or the Cherry Finish as well...
Not interested in trading for the vintage finish however.

Ok about this stingray:

I bought this stunning EBMM Stingray 4HH Limited run for GC with ebony Board and sting through body brand new.
It was made as a limited run by Musicman for the GC chain only.
EBMM will not disclose just how many of these were produced, But I was told by a GC person there could not be many. Normally 1 per store MAX so he said?

Normally it is near impossible to get an ebony fretboard on a musicman unless it is a dargie or some limited edition I guess.
Making this one very desirable Stingray!
Plus the string through body is not something many stingrays have either.
This run was made in the Sapphire Black color with the black pearloid pickguard. Neck has the slick as greased lightning natural finish in extra clean condition.

When I bought this new from GC it was wayyyyy up high on the top spot where no one could just grab it down and play it...
It was never played really so they told me.
It looked like it and was in beautiful new condition.
Since then I have played it only in my home office studio maybe a few hours on and off playtime. Never been out of my home.

I have all case candy in the brand new fitted EBMM case and the actual price tag from GC they let me take...which I believe says $1,712.00 plus sales tax.

So, if you or someone ya know has a Gibson Tbird in either of these 3 finishes in minty clean condition and would like my Stingray in trade....Let me know.
I love this bass and am not in a big hurry to part with her, unless I find the right trade for the right Tbird.

Thanks

Naw man, no worries...not a P.I.T.A at all....hahaha!!
Honestly I do not know a lot about Tbirds.
Cept that I want to give one a rip and see what they are all about.
I like the ivory white color the best....
I just happen to have seen a "natural burst" over on ebay and was watching it for 5 days....almost pulled the trigger on it, but honestly wanted to sell my Ray to raise the money first.
Should have grabbed it and sold the ray and got back the money after. stupid me

But all the "Natural burst" was , was a natural looking finish...with all one tone of wood...no black burst around the outer edges....
That's it really...NOOO idea why they call it a "Burst" at all.
there is no "burst".

I know the black colored Nikki Sixx editions are scarce....they are all black with special electronics and inlays and all that.

I just personally like the Ivory White ones

Hope I like them , If I give up this killer as new Ray for one, and hate it I will be really ticked off...hahaha!!

That's a lovely Ray. Why don't you go play a few 'Birds before you pull the trigger on this trade idea?

I hear ya...THAT would make sense...
But there are no Gibson's anywhere near me.
I looked and all there are locally are 1-2 Epi's made in China.

I still have two other killer Rays besides the one I am willing to part with.
I recently picked up a minty 2010 Stingray Stealth 4 HH.
So I get to keep a ray with an Ebony board and the HH set up.
And I will never part with the bass in my Avi pic...a 2008 LE Ray in sequoia gold 4HS.

So I think I can part with this Ray for the right Tbird.
Even if I hate the Tbird I end up with and sell it off, I still will have my two favorite Rays left in the stable.

I always do these stupid things with my basses..Buy/sell/trade.....sometimes I regret it sometimes not
