I have had this bass sense last spring. I hate to get rid of it but it just doesn't fit in with the band I am playing with at this time. I need a Gibson Thunderbird or a EBMM HH, Ray-Sterling or Bongo.

I have it listed on CL but thought I may be able to work out a trade here for what I need. If I could afford to just buy one of the basses that I need I would keep it.

This bass is ALL original, the only thing that has been changed are the strap buttons. Dunlop strap-locks have been installed.
This bass has the 7 screw bridge that it came with from the factory. These bridges will never have the “tail lift” that plagues Rickenbacker basses.
It also has the two piece pick guard with the truss rod adjusters at the body. This makes it much easier to adjust the rods.
This bass has recently had the frets leveled & dressed along with a full set up & new strings & a new string mute pad installed. It has D'Addario ECB82 Chromes on it now but I have a new set of RotoSound 66 rounds I will install if you prefer.
This bass has some chips, scratches & dings from 25 years of playing but is in GREAT playing shape.
The case shows 25 years of use also but all the hinges & latches work perfectly. I had a new handle installed a few months back.
PM me and I will send you detailed photos of some of the chip's

Actually, the board on pretty much all 4003's is Pau Ferro, not Maple. Beautiful color on that Rick!

It sure looks like Pau Ferro with a clear gloss over it to me but the spec's don't say.

The Red & Black 4003 was featured in the center fold of the '85 catalog.
