FT/FS '93 Warwick Fortress One Wenge Neck!

Sign in to disble this ad
For sale or trade is my 1993 Warwick Fortress One with Wenge Neck and hardshell case. This is the old school neck which lacks the volute on the back of the headstock. From the era where these were more handmade than manufactured!

These basses are my favorite ever made by Warwick. The Wenge neck is a joy to play and the extended upper horn makes these basses very comfortable to wear. This one is a two piece maple body, natural finish with passive P/J electronics. Overall condition is excellent save for a light ding or two and some scuffing on the lower body. The neck and hardware (chrome) are immaculate. I always take macro photos to highlight any blemishes. Be assured this bass has a very clean and beautiful look overall.

I am asking $825 OR BEST OFFER shipped CONUS in a hard case. Emphasis on best offer-- if you like the bass, we can deal.

As far as trade bait, I would be willing to trade up or down where appropriate or if you have any creative trade ideas:

-MusicMan Bongo HH
-Musicman Stingray pre 1995 with string mutes
-MusicMan Sterling pre 1995 with string mutes
-Warwick Fortress Masterman 4 (fretted or fretless)
-Fender Jaguar pref. black or Olympic White
-Fretless Warwick Thumb, preferably Wenge neck
-Ovation Magnum 1 or 2
-Gretsch Broadkaster
-Kubicki ex-factor
-Yamaha BB5000A (wide string spacing)
-Pedulla MVP/Buzz 4 or 5 string
-Gibson Thunderbird
-Rickenbacker 4001 or 4003

Thanks and I look forward to finding a trade.

Thanks.

RBM

PICS are now up and they are high res and pretty true. See original post. I did a soup to nuts inspection if you like TMI here are the only flaws in addition to the scuffing mentioned, all are minor:

-Light markings (not dents or wood wear) where the thumb anchors to the J pickup and where the index finger hits the body popping. The former slightly changes the finish feel but only very slightly and I believe both would rub out-- they just look like dirt and are slight.

-Some light marks near the bottom that will rub out with a damp cloth. I used my finger and they went away...

-A strange area on the back where the wood has a different finish shade. I have seen this on wicks before-- the wood has clearly not been affected by tape, varnish, etc but there is some discoloration, possibly form the factory. I had a corvette with an ebony fretless board that had a blonde skunk stripe down it!

But as you will see, overall a very clean bass in the pics and more so in real life. The neck is perfect and the frets are in pristine shape. This hasn't been played much by me and its previous owners.

Thanks.

To the top for trade offers. I had a couple that I loved but they seem to have gone cold. Maybe it's just the weeekend...

Anyway, I would love to get a Masterman in trade if there is another Fortress nut out there who wants to swap. Fretted or fretless. All good to me. Just not purple as I already have a purple MM.

Thanks.

Bump for trade offers. Would love to have a masterman 4, fretted or fretless or anything else on my list for that matter. I have had 3 MM trades fall through.

Thanks.

No, sorry. I have never really found a 5-er I could click with.

Would rather do a sale or trade for one of the 4 strings I mentioned.

Thanks.

Roger
