FS: Alembic Brown Bass w/Green LEDs

This bass is the real deal. Amazing construction from the folks over at Alembic in Santa Rosa, CA. This bass sounds and feels amazing. It's an incredible instrument, but I decided to get an Azola Mini Baby Bass which set me back a little, so I downgraded to a Sadowsky. Compared to the Sadowsky, this one has some major tone despite the short scale. Full, rich, and complicated, like double dutch chocolate cake. (Sorry for the cheesy analogy )

FOR SALE NO TRADES. I just bought an Azola so I have everything I need (but not want, what a world!) (will a MOD please change the header to FS?)

Straight sale price: $3,900 + shipping
These go for 8-9k new. Get one for less than half the price!

It's a standard 2005 Alembic Brown Bass with Green LEDs.
Myrtle body and figured walnut top and back.
Flame walnut headstock top.
5 piece mahogany, maple, walnut neck.
Short scale.
1.5" at nut, 2.151" at 24th fret.
Ebony fingerboard with Abalone oval inlays.
Standard Alembic brass hardware
Alembic pickups.
Alembic Anniversary electronics.
Original hard shell case.
Schaller strap locks with Levi's strap.

The condition is great, though it has a few boo-boos from a shipping accident (pictured below, on the left side of the bass when the bass is facing you). It looks *way* worse in the picture than in person. Does not effect functionality. Some minute dings. Some finish blemishes, one notably near the neck pickup from my thumbnail. Minor scratches on the back brass plate.

There was a neck relief problem a year ago, but I sent it to Alembic and it's absolutely perfect. The bass is absolutely 100% perfect Alembic certified condition as far as functionality.

The pics (more on request):

Beautiful bass bump. Oh, and did a big dog bite your bass in that shipping accident? #;>|

If a dog bit it I would have its head mounted on my wall.

Ironically enough, it happened when I shipped it to Alembic to get the neck relief fixed. The padding in the ATA case (the one offered here) was weak right on the inside near the latch mechanism. So the bass was bouncing against the latch mechanism on it's way to and from Santa Rosa.

Wow, that looks like it is effortless to play. What is the scale length on those again?

I'd buy it, but I have a sig series SC already.

A most excellent deal folks, buy this bass, and play till your fingers bleed.

Hey man, if you're ever in Abq, bring your basses. I haven't played a Nordy or Sadowsky before... I'm not really big on jazz basses though, but if I like one of 'em enough, we might be able to make a deal! PM me for a ph#.

I've gotten a lot of interests in straight-up purchases, and I've found myself strongly attracted to Sadowsky, so I'm I'll throw up a sale price:

$4300 + shipping

This bass is officially off "for trade" and now "for sale". If a mod can change the header, I would appreciate it.

Devon brought this baby by for me to check out last week and I thought it was terrific. Really a first rate instrument that just played like a dream. Excellent tonal range all around and the scale makes it just a breeze to move around on the neck. Somebody buy this!

Jeeze, if I hadn't gone and spent my play money last month, I'd be all over it. As it is, I need 8 more gig weekends to up my balance enough for this. Unfortunately that puts me out to late May.

Thanks Jack! You were playing some sweet Stanley riffs on it. I was impressed.

OK, my plans have changed somewhat. I've given up on buying the sweet Chestnut/Alder Fodera Emperor over at thelowend, and am going to buy a Sadowsky Metro. I still need the money for the deposit for a Stammie and also an EUB, so this is still for sale. But I'm now open for trades for an EUB, preferably an NS.

Edit: Stammie is now not an option since I bought an Azola EUB
