Original thread here:
custom Music Man SUB 5 silver sparkle

Well, I'm torn here (there's a reason this is labeled as a "Feeler" thread), because this bass is awesome...everything it was promised to be. However, I play primarily at church, so this is just too flashy for me. I was packing it up to head there on Sunday, and I tried to picture myself in front of the church playing that, and it just didn't fit in my head right.

Anyway, I might regret this, but it doesn't fit what I'm doing right now and if I added another bass on top, my wife threatened divorce or death (my choice), so rather than leaving it sit there I'm looking to replace it with something I'd actually use.

I'm interested in another 5-stringer, primarily StingRay, Bongo, or Big Al. I can toss cash in on top. Feel free to shoot me other offers if you'd like, but those are what I'm looking for.

The bass plays and sounds great, comparable to my SR4. The Ag preamp is awesome, though TBH I do miss the mid boost from my 3-band. And it really SHINES. It's beautiful and unique.

For now, I'm looking only for trades. Eventually I might look to sell. Taking a loss (even the $50ish of shipping) so soon after I bought it would be painful, but in the interest of fairness and keeping it in the TB family I'd let it go for the $750 shipped and insured that I paid (if it comes to that). So if you're interested in a straight-up cash purchase at $750, shoot me a PM and I'll keep a list (FCFS) that I'll go back to if I decide to go the cash route.

CONUS only please.

I'm sitting here staring at the computer, trying to decide if I really want to part with this...if I could take my basses with me, perhaps divorce wouldn't be so bad. I have a feeling she'd take those in the settlement just out of spite though.

I've got a cash offer just shy of my asking price, and there are currently 3 or 4 basses for sale that match exactly what I'm looking for, so I'm thinking of going that route.

I'll give it a bit more time to gather offers, but you know how the GAS is. I'm itching to get this out the door before all the basses I'm lusting after are gone.

I've got a couple interesting trade offers on the table too. Not exactly what I was looking for, but tempting none-the-less.

So if you've got other basses to trade, feel free to shoot me offers.

Got a few more offers. All PMs replied to, I think. If not feel free to poke me again.

Still on the table, but there are one or two offers tempting me.

Unless I get another trade offer, I think I'm gonna end this soon and take the cash.

I'm waffling about one trade at the moment, but I think the cash it would require on my end is a bit too much for me.

I'm trying to be patient and pick out something that I'm confident I'll be happy with, and also get a good deal.

Man, being patient is hard.

Payment already received, sitting in my paypal account...

I have a StingRay 4 stringer. I'm trying to decide if I want my 5 to match it (because I do love that SR4), or if I should get something slightly different for variety (Bongo or Big Al).
