FT Feeler: Fender American Deluxe Precision

First, I feel that I should be completely straightforward with the "feeler" status of this bass. I'm pretty iffy about getting rid of it and I wouldn't have a problem hanging on to it if the right trade offer doesn't come through. I love the sound and feel of this instrument and the main reason it's up on the block is because I really only gig my Warwicks and the Deluxe isn't getting the use it deserves right now. Bass is in great condition. No dings, dents, scratches, buckle-rash, etc. Only very slight swirling in a few spots and it's so minimal that I couldn't capture it in the pics. I replaced the tuning machine on the E string with a Hipshot X-tender and later realized that the standard fender clover doesn't quite match with the other "fancy" tuners, but it has never bugged me. Original Tuning key will be included in the sale. Currently outfitted with dunlop straploks and I'll include the pieces that attach to the strap as well. Ships in the orginal Fender molded hardshell case. If you need other info, feel free to ask and I'll post back with an answer as soon as I can.

TRADED

Trade Interests:
1) A fiver with at least 17.5mm (18-20mm preferred) would probably be at the top of the list.
However I'm definitely willing to listen to offers for 4-stringers or 6-stringers as well.
2) Warwick (not interested in Rockbasses or Corvette std)
3) Musicman (Stingray, Sterling, or Bongo)
4) Lakland
5) Rickenbacker or Rickenbacker clones
6) Bacchus
7) Moon
8) Well-made old school Japanese basses
9) Technics SL1200s
10) Drum kit (you'd probably have to be in Portland)
11) Archos 5 or 7 (at least 250gb hard drive)
12) 58-62cm road bike/track bike frame set
13) Assorted track bike/fixed-gear components
14) Moog effects pedals and other assorted products (theremin, synths, etc)
15) Boss RC-20xl or RC-50
16) Assorted Boss, Roland, Digitech, and Korg products.
Hard-to-find effects (digitech bass whammy, Ass-Master, etc).
Samplers, sequencers, or synths.
17) Whatever else you got. Feel free to offer music gear of any kind. No guarantee of a yes, but you never know.

I realize that a lot of things I've listed will require cash on your end or my end to even up the trade. I haven't got a lot of free cash, but for the right trade, I'm sure I could find some. Also, if you're interested I could throw in an Ibanez ATK 750KA in a 2-for-1 deal (most likely only on a bass trade). I am not looking for an outright sale, but I'm sure people will ask me for a price at some point, so I'll say $950 shipped CONUS.

I realize the pics are huge, but I think they give pretty good detail. In the shot of the back of the body, all apparent imperfections are just reflections or dust.

Darn! I've been looking for one of these and have a couple of different basses I'd be willing to deal. Although this is tempting, I'm trying to find a P Deluxe in white. Good Luck.

I think there was one in the classifieds here a while back, may still be around if you seek it out. But if you happen to have a sudden change of heart and feel the need for a P Deluxe that goes from deep purple to bright red (depending on lighting), feel free to shoot me a PM with your offer, haha. Good luck finding what you're looking for. Peace

these are REALLY good basses, I had one in a trade,in the same color, It was perfectly setup, with flats..the rosewood board with those abalone dots, all oiled up and shining..I think he had a mint guard on his,it looked great that way.

I never used the bridge pu,but the one pu alone, with those electronics were so warm and buttery,so much sustain..fantastic.
sheesh..this was the one that got away.

I'm selling my Bongo, I need too many other things. But this is tempting.. the color, the rosewood..

I love these basses, but I'm looking for one with a 1 1/2" nut. Thanks for the quick response and good luck with the sale/trade!

Thanks for the positive review man. Also, I'm not much of a Fender guy and my knowledge regarding pickguard colors is minimal, but in person the guard looks much less white than in the pictures I took. I think someone told me it was mint once. Doesn't look very green to me, but I'm not really qualified to say what color it is for sure.

As for needing to get rid of that Bongo... I could definitely use one of those if you felt like getting back the one that got away, haha. I'm loving the LED mod by the way.

All PMs returned.

Great bass vid bump: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TF4sJHBIYEo

Also, a few clarifications to add on trades. I'm not currently intested in fretless basses (with my mediocre fretless skills, one FL bass is probably already more than enough) or Fender basses.

if it doesn't have a very pale pastel green tint,it could also be parchment colored, the mint is barely green, but if u hold something very white near it,like paper..u can see the green.

I will give it some good thought, there are other things I really need now,but this is tempting.I have a soft spot for these..

Video of an instrument I'd love to have bump: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-lv9ltZ2cw

Also, the pickguard on the bass appears to be either parchment or mint. I really don't know which if these it is, but it definitely isn't just white. Sorry for my ignorance here, I just don't want to make a claim that I'm not entirely sure of, haha
