FT Feeler-Jeez I must Be Nuts- Lakland 55-94 Standard

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Near Mint, Blue 55-94 Standard. It has 2 pickguards- white and a Jeannie's clear. Bartolini electronics, Birdseye board. I got rid of the Lakland case, it was in rough shape. It now resides in a Mono Case M-80 bag, which is amazing.

Now, why would I be thinking about moving the BADDEST bass I've ever owned? Well here's the scoop. I'd trade for TWO basses of combined similar value. That's right.... your 2 basses for my 55-94.

For a 6'2" person, I don't have the biggest hands. The 35" scale wears me out a little during 4 sets.

I want another American Standard 4 String Jazz Bass. Mid nineties and newer. Prefer non- Black (already have one). Ash bodies and Maple necks preferred, but not mandatory.

I also want another 5 string. 34" or 35 " scale. Interesting makers will include EBMM, MTD KZ, Lakland Skyline, Human base, etc. No cheap stuff please. I figure my Lakland is worth around $1800 so no lowball offers. I'll be more than happy to hold onto it if I don't get the right offer. Will post pics later tonight. Thanks.

**** Pics of me playing the 55-94 up now. I'll get batteries for my camera and take close ups tomorrow. THANKS!!!

I should probably elaborate on something...

I'm looking for two basses of similar value that would be equal to the Lakland's.

unless someone beats me to it, which is very, very probable. I only have so many to get rid of, and I am sure that such an awesome bass MUST stay in our TB family! This bass is a piece of Lakland History, come on guys, let's keep it here!

Ash or alder?

it's a standard so it has an ash body. the blue stain is a bit greenish- turquoise perhaps? killer ash grain on this one.

I really appreciate all the offers and cool correspondence with the TB faithful. I've decided to hold onto the Lakland for a while. Didn't really get the offer I was hoping for and was also able to make a move on a 4 string that will suit my needs. Plus- the wife was not happy with the idea of moving the 55-94- it's her favorite bass I've owned. Peace, Thanks and Happy Holidays All!!
