FT feeler: lakland skyline 55-07/55-01
 

here's the story:
i wanted a US lakland 55-07, but didn't have the cash. So...i bought a like new 55-01. i then took out the electronics and the pickups, and replace them with a brand new set of chi-sonic soap bar single coils, and passive controls. the bass it self is awesome. it's one of the best pieces of ash i've seen on any lakland, foriegn or domestic. from more the 2 feets away it looks like a one piece body. it plays and sounds great. the only thing wrong with the bass is a small chip in the the clear coat under the front volume knob. i have about $900 invested in the bass right now.
my main bass is a 55-94, and i didn't realize just how much i would miss not having the MM pickup. i would like to trade this bass for a 55-02. i'm not very picky, if your interested let me know. this is probably a long shot, but worth a try.
