FT Feeler: My Lakland 55-01 for your Warwick Fortress 5

Sign in to disble this ad
Looking for a Warwick 5ver-preferably an earlier Fortress 5 model. Masterman or JJ setups, I also like "worn" and played basses, so cosmetics is not an issue. I have an early version Lakland Skyline 55-01, candy apple red, great condition with functional OHSC and straplocks. I'd probably put the value of the Lakie around 500-600 bux, plus the color is discontuined. This is one of the first run Skylines with the small Gotoh tuners. Has a great straight neck and cosmetically i'd put it at an 8.5/10.
Let me know what you got-please no Rockbasses or Corvettes.
Cheers!

Man, I always need a 5ver in my arsenal and I've rekindled my love for Wicks with my latest acquistion-a 98 Neckthru thumb. The Lakie is a superb axe though, definitely a versatile workhorse.

Just trade. I need a 5-string in my arsenal pretty much at all times. Don't want to not have one ready, y'know......

Hey did you borrow my bass?

Friendly bump. These are really nice basses for the money. I had the same tuners but I upgraded them to USA Hipshot Ultralights.

Ok, sorry If im again bumping the thread but I tried my best to capture some of the wear and dings on the bass with my macbook photobooth feature-which was damn near impossible. Hope this helps yall, my digital camera is on the fritz right now.
Worst stuff is some pinhead sized dings by the bottom bout and output jack, string wear on the pickup covers and discoloration on the maple board which is not actually player wear. It seems to be a common occurrence on skyline necks.

That makes 3 of us. My Lakland looks exactly like the one you have and the one for sale

It's an amazing bass especially for the money. I love mine!

I used to... had a 95 Masterman that would have been perfect!
I love those old Warwicks and the Fortress had one of the best feeling body shapes and a fantastic cutting tone.

Good luck in your search! (And feel free to throw me the scraps if you find more than 1 bass )
