Been thinking about moving my NS OmniBass 5, so here's a feeler ad.
It's a real deal NS Omni 5 (not an NX/NXT). Comes with OEM bag and stand plus a bow - have no idea of the quality of the bow or how to tell either. Currently strung with Thomastik Jazz Flats B-G.
Bass is in Good+ to VG condition. Couple dinks here and there but certainly cosmetic only. Some working around the receiver area for stand. Hate to say it, but looks like previous owner "couldn't hit the hole" very well. LOL! Stand has some wear - one rubber "foot" missing and other worn thru. Rear leg of stand has some wear that looks like it was used on rough concrete. Bag in pretty good shape. Currently covered with cat hair.
Sounds great, plays great. Only reason I'm selling as I have a hard time getting used to fretless, upright, AND five-string all at once. As far as trades go, my first pick would be an OmniBass in 4-string. Similar condition. Next picks would be Azola Lightning Bug....or whatever the 34" / 35" scale Azola was called. Would consider other EUBs of similar quality, but only 34-35" scale. My left thumb was hyper-extended a few years ago and grew back weird. Between that and arthritis, I can't really handle tradition 41"-42" scale without pain. No fretless bass or other full-scale EUB offerings, please!
A couple of exceptions: I'd love to try an Eminence EUB and prefer one with a removable neck. AFAIK
, the Eminence is only available in full scale...but I want one so bad, I'd give it a try. Maybe a Gage CzechEase...if I think about it a bit.
I'd consider a Turner Renaissance or Rob Allen fretless. Maybe a Sadowsky NYC or Pedulla Buzz/MVP fretless with Poly coat. But that's about it in the "traditional-ish" BG department. And not too sure about that.
I've got a bunch of pix taken outside to upload to photobucket, but the kids are on the PC right now. I've included a couple of iPhone pix as teasers until I get the good ones online.
Thanks and lemme know whatcha got.
