This is a nice bass, it sounds great and all my band mates think its very pretty but personally I am more into traditional looks. I figured throwing this up for trade wouldn't hurt. If it goes it goes, if not I still have plenty of uses for it with current bands.
The body and neck are from Warmoth. The body is a lace wood top over a solid alder core. Its finished in clear gloss. The neck is a very nice Warmoth maple neck with a fender headstock shape. It has a ton of birdseye and flame to it, I think its 1 5/8 at the nut.
The bridge is a Schaller roller. The tuning machines are clover type tuners from a Fender Japan Jazz Bass special, the same tuners the Geddy and 70's reissues use but black.
The pickups are Schaller pups designed after Dimarzio but slightly hotter with Serial/parallel switch on each pup gives nice variety.
This is essentially a custom made USA bass, but Its not 100% perfect. The schaller bridge is mounted by 3 screws , the middle screw is missing. I have a correct screw and I can install but it is chrome. The tuners have 4 screws to hold them on for a total of 16 screw holes stock, well this bass only has the tuners held on by 2 screws per tuner so there are only 8 screws. Its the screws that are diagonal to each other on the neck so its plenty fine and the other screws are not actually needed and the neck was not drilled for these other 8 holes, thus if you swap tuners you only need to plug 8 holes. If you want to keep these leave it as is and its 100% fine or if you want you can drill the other 8 holes and put some screws in. I am guessing the person who put this together figured the other screws were rather unneeded especially if a swap was likely to occur. The tuners are great tho I wouldnt change them out unless you are going to a different hardware color and hipshot makes a d-tuner that matches this pattern. Lastly the finish looks nicely done and is fine with me but it doesn't feel glass smooth in some areas mainly on the inside of the horn, its not a 100% pro job. I am very anal about stuff as this wasnt disclosed to me so I am guessing the previous owners didnt notice, I fully disclose my stuff and many times people get stuff from me and say "wow I wasnt expecting it this nice based on your description" I rather undersell something then not disclose something and that is why I have the feedback rating I have. Other then that there is no real cosmetic wear to speak up , its pretty clean, good frets, medium action. Trades wanted
The trade must be a 4 string and it must be fretted. Please do not offer fretless basses or anything more then 4 strings, no matter how nice it is I have zero interest. You are also going to have a hard time getting me to want any Ibanez that wasnt made in the 80's. I can add cash for the right trade.
