FS/FT: Fender Am Standard P

I have a 1996 Am Standard P, rosewood board, and a yellow/cream color that's sort of in-between blonde and banana cream pie for lack of a better description(I don't know what Fender called this color at the time)
I have done these mods: Hipshot D-tuner, Fender replacement tort guard (I don't think I still have the original white one) and my tech replaced the stock bridge which was only string-through-body with a vintage style Fender bridge, so I could top-load my Labella flats. So, now the bass is ONLY top-load. I also had put on an ashtray for a while, so there are two screws by the bridge. I might have the ashtray if you're interested--will have to dig for it. Currently sports almost new Roto 66s. Comes with the original molded Fender case. I'd say the condition of the bass is excellent, save for a little dulling of the finish where I used to slide a pick under the pickguard above the pickup. I haven't weighed it yet, but I can. I will say it's not the most seamless neck/body join Fenders ever done, but it's as solid as a rock. I bought it new, from Gelb Music in Redwood City, California--I must've tried 7 or 8 Am Standard P's that day before settling on this one.
I'm interested in trades for something either short-scale, hollow, quirky, or possibly a fretless, but I'm not into Fretless Jazzes or anything that goes "mwah". I prefer thump and thud I'm open to four or five strings. Something like a Godin fretless hollowbody might be just the ticket. But tell me what ya got. This is a great P that I thought I'd never get rid of, but I've got 3 p-basses now, and I need some more variety in my arsenal.
For sale I'm asking $650 shipped in the lower 48.

Unless he's only looking to trade. Then, it may be helpful to list a price to give comparative value, but it is not required by forum rules.

Righto---I'm really just looking to trade preferably, but I will come up with a price in just a bit.
I just weighed it--bathroom scale says 10lbs even.

Hi,
Responded to bthrem's PM. He also inquired about price if I were to consider selling it.
I prefer to trade and would like to wait and see if anyone has something cool to swap over the next few days, before I decide to sell, but I'll put a value of $650 on the bass. (btw, how does one edit the header of a post, in the event I need to change it to FT/FS? Or is editing just the body of the post sufficient?)

Some more info:
I do not seem to have the original bridge. I do however have the original tuning key (that I replaced with the Hipshot). I also have the ashtray and pickup cover that I had on the bass at various times. The Fender truss rod tool is in the case.

Nice bass. I had a '96 Jazz that same color. It's called Vintage White, even though it's yellowish. My wife always called it banana cream. I used to alternate between a tort and a white pearloid p/g. Both look good. Good luck with your trade!

Thanks! Yeah, I really like the color---it's very "vintage" looking right outta the gate. It's a super solid P that does that P thang in spades, but I have 3 Ps now, and my US Glaub wins over this one (my other is a new '08 fiver). Otherwise I'd never let it go.

I might consider amp heads too in trade---not too sure about that one, but maybe . . .

Thanks for the offers, but no trades that really hit my hot button have come in, so I will now offer it up for sale as well. Bassguy1 has first dibs.

Thanks!

Bump and edit post header to FS/FT (previously was just "FT")

Some really cool trade offers but nothing quite grabbing me still--thanks.

I've been asked about the neck joint I mentioned, so here's a couple better pics of that.
Not the tightest as you can see, but it's solid, doesn't move, set-up stays put just like any good P. My tech loves this bass--likes it better than my Glaub!
To reiterate, I tried many new Am Stan P's the day I bought this one and I picked this one over all of them, even considering the neck pocket.

Still available! Some interesting trade offers, but she's still here. A solid piece of American-made Fender goodness for a great price!
