FT: Fender Power Jazz Bass Special MIJ

Hi everyone,

I just recently picked this up from another TB-er, but I sadly am starting to think this bass isn't quite for me.

This is a Fender Power Jazz Bass Special made in Japan from the 80's, I believe '86 or so according to the serial number. It's one of the E series.

The bass has some dings on the body (hard to see in the pics), and one on the neck, but nothing that affected the playability for me.

In a nutshell, a description of the bass..
The body is P, the neck is J, pickups are P/J, electronics are active

The bass plays great, and has a lot of character. Think Duff McKagan! but active.



I'm looking to possibly trade for another bass. I'm pretty open for many types of basses, so let me know what you have.

I'm pretty interested in more traditional P basses, but like I said, I'll consider pretty much anything.

I MIGHT sell the bass for the right offer, but I'd like to trade it if possible.

I used to own this bass!! I actually discovered it on my local CL and am the one who introduced it to the TB community.

This bass has probably the sweetest neck of any bass I've ever owned. If I played 4s ad much as I do 5s, I'd have kept it.

That's pretty cool you found it again!
It really does have a great neck, it feels great no matter how I tweak the action. It's plays very smoothly.

I have the same problem as you, I'm used to my JO5 and the necks are night and day. I guess I like thicker necks. I had the same problem with my old Geddy Lee, but that one was even thinner.
