Looking to trade my Fodera Monarch Deluxe w/ EMG P/ Js for a Monarch Deluxe with Dual Coils. It's highly figured Koa on an Alder body, Three piece maple neck with rosewood board and tulip inlays. Black hardware, Bought in 2005, in mint condition, plays like a dream. Weighs just under 8 1/2 pounds. I just prefer the sound of the dual coils. Let me know what you have, has to have an interesting top. The one photo is the older gold hardware, it has been replaced with black hardware. Back of headstock signed by Victor last November at a clinic in Paramus, NJ. I tried this once before and got some interesting offers, but I'M ONLY INTERESTED IN TRADING FOR A FODERA MONARCH WITH DUAL COILS. Contact me for additional photos. Thanks.
***I had a very successful visit to Fodera last Tuesday. Joey and Jason recommended a set of Duncan P/J pickups, no routing involved. Joey installed them while I waited and they SOUNDED AMAZING! Definitely more aggressive than the EMGs. They sound close to the Duncan Duals in single mode. Nice "old school" sound, and with the Pope preamp you can still get more mellow tones out of it. I also put a fresh set of Fodera Nickel rounds on. So, at this point, I'm keeping this bass. Thanks again to Joey and Jason at Fodera for their great customer service.***

Sorry for thread hijack bro, but a bump is a bump. | I've liked him for a long time as well, and my favorite tone of his is when he has used a MusicMan, and I'm not a MusicMan fan. He can play whatever he wants in my book. |

I'm talking primarily the Metal guy's which I'm one of, there are Cheaper Amazing Playing basses that don't look like an Axe, that don't have 20 pointed pieces sticking out of them. I love my P bass and will never sell it, and i'm starting a Sadowsky fund....but if you can afford it, and want an instrument that almost plays itself....Go for it
P.S. Along with the metal, I idolize Victor, Marcus, Entwhistle, etc. |

The top is still there afterward, and he could have matching covers. Easier than trading a bass he loves for an unknown instrument just because he's tired of the pickups. |

It's wider than the dual coil pickup. Also, they would be a bit off location wise. I'd have to get a custom ramp to hide the routing, and frankly, I don't really like the look. If I wanted matching covers (I did) the estimate was getting near $3000. I'd rather put that towards a new bass. Jason and I are trying a different approach. He's going to drop a set of Duncan P/ Js in and see if that's a sound I like. That might be a better solution for this bass. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
