About the bass: Instrument is in excellent cosmetic condition except for one weird super subtle blemish on the upper part of the body to the right of the pick guard (pictured in image six from the gallery below, if you can see it) I don't know what it is, I just noticed it one day while staring at this beauty too much. Neck is wide and fairly thin, with a low/medium setup that's great for lighter fingers and jazzy chops. Probably set too low for rock or slap, but I'm sure it'd adapt reasonably well considering it's basically a six string hi-fi 70's configuration J-bass. I
much prefer the pickups/pre-amp on this to the ones on the LEJ I previously had. The sound is exactly what you would expect from a hi-fi custom J, meaning it sounds like a 70's Fender Jazz but with a clarity and definition that the vintage instruments don't usually have. It's got more sparkly highs, and much beefier lows, but it has the definite sonic identity of a J. Also, though it's a small detail, I have to mention that the knobs on this are some of the best designed knobs I've ever had the pleasure of turning. I know, I know, they're just knobs, but really these are just so sturdy and balanced and they track perfectly, so smooth... I love em'.
Here's your bassporn fix for the day...
