FT / FS Alembic Epic 5 String

Sign in to disble this ad
My apologies to all who may have seen this listed before...my local deals keep falling through and this is now only on TB...I will not be entertaining any more local sales.

1996 Epic 5 string, California Walnut over Mahogany with maple set neck. Exceptional condition and set up beautifully with new DR High Beams. Action is excellent, and electronics are perfect...standard Epic controls of Volume, Blend, Bass boost & cut, Treble boost & cut. No disappointments on this one...includes generic TKL hardcase.

I have not been enjoying my attempts at transitioning to fivers and must finally accept that I am a four-banger at heart.

All interesting 4 string trades considered...especially fretless (unlined only) and/or neck-through/set neck instruments. Would definitely go straight across for a 4 string Epic.

Trades are preferred but will also consider a straight sale for $1300 plus shipping...

I personally really don't like Alembics...but THESE are such underrated basses. $1300?? Seriously?? Someone better snatch this up fast. That is a ridiculous deal for one of these.

Great deal indeed. I had an Epic 5er as my main bass for about 10 years... always sounded great and never let me down. I definitely miss it from time to time!

More pics...still looking for trade bait!

Holding off on straight sales for now as I shop trade offers.

Would love to trade for an Epic 4!

I'd be interested in knowing the serial number, because unless it was specially made, this is pre-95. In 95 they introduced walnut spacers between each maple laminate in the neck, which are clearly not in this bass.

Not a huge deterrent, for they're amazing basses no matter the year, but any discrepancy is alarming.

Clarification?

According to the serial number, it's a '96.

I did the request for more information/serial number lookup through Alembic some time ago, but it takes a long time for them to respond...have not heard anything yet.
