FT/FS - 1989 MIA Fender Jazz Bass!!!! Now also for sale!

Sign in to disble this ad
ALSO offered for outright sale.... $795 shipped/PayPal OBO!! Note: A trade is preferred.

Hi all,

This is an amazing bass and the rare-ish 22 fret longhorn/boner body balances perfectly. The only reason I am selling this is that I am really into fretless these days and also hate seeing my beautiful (and expensive) 1973 Jazz sit in its case.

The bass is Olympic white, with a tort guard and rosewood fingerboard.... all original and in as close to perfect shape a 21 year old bass can be (a bit of swirling and a couple very tiny dings that can barely be seen).

I will post pics tonight, but I am ideally looking for a MIA fretless Fender P or J. I will also look at the following.... +- cash or even trade works for me....

4 or 5 string only....
Fretless MIA Fender P (first choice)
Fretless MIA Fender J
EBMM Fretless SR or Bongo
Fretless G&L (most styles except SB-2 as I already own one)
Fretless Zon
Fretted or Fretless Alembic
Fretted or Fretless Pedula (MVP, Buzz, Thunder, etc.)
5 string Modulus

Note: no case, but I will find a suitable gig bag and it will be packaged like a tank.

Thanks!

I am VERY thorough when showing dings and other damage but this bass is amazingly clean. A bit of swirling that can't be photographed, a tiny ding on the back as shown and a bit of wear on the headstock (full disclosure and all..). This is one of the best condition 20+ year old Jazz basses I have ever seen.

P.S. Apologies for the fingerprints!

Ladies and gentlemen......

The Jazz porn......

Balances great for a Jazz. I own 3 other Jazz basses and this one feels the best.

gawd I love the boner j's! If I had the cash, and didn't already have one, I'd be all over this....... I don't believe I've ever seen one in white..... always burst and black.

I worked at a Fender dealer back in those days, and I have to say, workmanship wise the '89 -- '94 longhorn J's were on par with today's American Standards that everyone raves about.

One question..... is the pg original? I wasn't aware that a tort gaurd was available from Fender back then (for the boners). I had to order mine from Chandler.

Thanks! It is a great bass and as good as my 2008 American Standard quality-wise.

The PG is original according to the original owner. I would doubt it is a replacement as it basically spent $20 years under a bed and it is a one owner bass. He even had the original receipt. He paid $749 in 1990!!!

P.S. the last picture has a round reflection from the tuner bushing, it isn't a scratch/mark!
