This is my 1990 Warwick Streamer Stage I 6-string, which is an extremely amazing bass, yet not quite right for me. I guess I'm not much of a maple guy, as I prefer the tones more traditionally associated with Warwicks - low mids, throaty, aggressive, growly.
I'm not 100% sure that I want to let this guy go, but I thought I would put the feelers out there, as I think that all instruments should be played, not just collected.
I know the market for Warwicks pretty well. I know that you may never see another '90 SSI 6 string in this good condition, as well. This thing is nearly perfect. There is one notable scratch, as shown in one of the close ups of the arm rest area below, and as the picture right after that shows, you can't see it from more than 12" away as it blends with the grain of the flamed maple. I could have easily sanded/buffed this out, but I just haven't. There is also one dent in the very top of the headstock , next to the serial, as one of the other photos shows.
As you can see, there is absolutely NO buckle rash! The frets are original, and in tremendous shape. You really would not believe this bass was 21 years old unless someone told you.
The signature on the back cover plate is in silver paint pen, and is from Rocco Prestia from Tower of Power! It is short for Keep Your Dreams Alive, which he told me after a show in Seattle when he signed this. If you don't like it, it could be scratched off. You can also buy a replacement cover plate from Warwick.
I have replaced the fairly guts-less original Bartolini pickups with active Seymour Duncan Basslines, which sound awesome! The Basslines were about 1 mm too large for the cavities, so instead of modifying the bass in any way, I took a tiny bit of material off of the corners of the pickups. Practically imperceptible from almost any angle. The bass still has the original Bart preamp from 1990, which I will reinstall if this guy finds a new home. The knob that I now have as stacked will be replaced with the original, normal gold domed knob (I have an Aguilar OBP3 pre in there at the moment).
I am very sure of what I'm looking for, and am not interested in much outside of those parameters, but feel free to let me know if you have something you think might interest me.
I'm specifically looking for 6 strings only, bass-wise. 6 STRINGS ONLY. The only exception to this would be if you have a Jerzy Drozd 5 string to trade outright. I'm looking mainly for Warwick Thumb and Jerzy Drozd 6 strings - very specific, I know, but that's what I want.
I may also consider a high end 4x10, with other items and/or supplementary cash.
If I were to sell outright, I think it would be in the $2,500 range, possibly negotiable, but again I'm not too sure about that. I thought I would see how the trade situation looks first, and like I said at first, this is just a feeler to start with.
Here's some bass porn!

To see and hear this bass in action, check out my latest video: Warwick Bass Comparison: Streamer Stage I and II and Thumb NT - YouTube
I have acquired a new 6 string that I'm liking very much so far, so it looks like I'm not so eager to trade for a Jerzy Drozd 6 string anymore. This is leaning more towards sale at this point, although I could use the following things in trade (plus cash):
-Nice condenser mic for recording
-Wireless in-ear monitor system, preferably with two receivers
-Nice SWR or Eden 4x10
-I'm sure there are some other things I could use! Let me know what you have, if you're interested.

By the way, I made another video that shows some other sides of this bass, tone-wise, than what was demo'd in the previous video I posted. Here's the link: Warwick Bass Comparison: Streamer Stage I and II and Thumb NT part 2 - YouTube
The SSI one is the last bass profiled. Thanks!

I've owned a Thumb 6 NT before, and it was a lot thicker sounding than the one in your clips. Could just be a combo of recording/listening equipment, but just curious. Love to hear those basses with more of the preamp engaged.
And of course I wish someone would buy my Modulus fretless so I could snag your Streamer 6er!!!!!! |

I discussed the EQing, recording, etc much more in a thread about the clips themselves on the Warwick forum. Here's the link: Video Comparison: Thumb NT, Streamer Stage I and SSII!
Feel free to check it out! There's a lot more info in that thread. Thanks for watching!
