No longer a feeler... I want to sell or trade it off.

I'm putting my beloved pre-Fender Kubicki out here in search of a sale or trade. I love this bass, especially how versatile it is and how great it plays, but want to go with something of equal value that also plays great and is more classic looking. I've seen these on here selling in the $1450-$1700 range depending on condition.I want $1650 shipped in the CONUS or trade for equal value. Trade ideas are listed below. Too high on this? I've decided to lower it to $1550 + actual shipping/packaging cost. Always willing to talk, hear offers and trade ideas, but I'm pretty firm there... especially on a PayPal deal.

After I got this bass almost 10 years ago I sent it to Phil Kubicki's shop in Santa Barbara to have him service it. It is in good condition, but does have surface scratching and a couple of dings. The electronics are flawless, frets are great, tuner/bridge system is great. I had Phil refinish the neck and when he shipped it back to me it was really hot in CA and some of the fuzz from my hard case stuck to two places on the back of the neck. Now these are just two discolored areas that feel slightly matte vs the rest of the neck. No big deal to me, but a new owner may want to refinish it.

I don't have the original case for it, which was tweaked beyond repair, but I do have a hard case that I cut out and modified slightly to accomodate the Kubicki body.

I'm looking for something like a 4 string Jazz or P/J style bass ala Lakland, Lull, Sadowsky. I like passive/active electronics and maple fretboards.

Again, I prefer a trade, but in the case of a sale I take PayPal, Cashier's Check or Postal Money Orders. Haven't been on TalkBass for long, but I have been selling on eBay for more than 10 years with 100% positive feedback. Check out my profile here: eBay My World - madness1967

PMs replied. I'd definitely consider a sale on this one with the right offer. Thanks!

More pics (case)

Thanks for everyone's interest. Thought I'd add a couple of pics of the non-original, modified hard case.

Yeah, I kinda just cut the foam to make it fit. When I keep the bass in this case I put down a t-shirt to protect the body from any sharper, glued edges of the foam. Most of the time I keep it in a RoadRunner padded gig bag with backpack shoulder straps. If someone would prefer to have the RoadRunner instead of the hard case, that would be doable.

I'd love to sell or trade this. It is a player , but nowhere near as rough as many of the Kubickis of similar age I've seen for sale.

I want $1650 shipped to the CONUS in an outright sale or trade for similar value. I'd consider selling/shipping internationally if the buyer pays the difference. Trade possibilities are mentioned above. Lets talk!

Here are a couple of pics of the optional RoadRunner gig bag.
