This is a very tentative trade feeler for my Epiphone Rivoli II late 90s reissue in sunburst. I think this one is Korean. She's a beauty and in great shape. Everything (truss included) works and it's currently strung with a well-worn set of EB flats; frets are fine and meaty. Some folks don't dig the stock pups on these, but I think they sound amazing. You can get a wide range of tones from the deep woof to the barky baritone. The only issues are: 4 screws on the big mudbucker aren't original (but perfectly functional), the bottom strap button has some wear around it (but it sits in its hole nice and tight), there is some discoloration on the headstock face (see pic), and a similar streak of discoloration near the bass-side nut from where it hung on the wall (not very severe at all). otherwise, she's very clean and very cool. I have a good gigbag for it. It's pretty damn light; can't be more than 8lbs or so. It's a rare and beautiful bird with tone to match. Nothing sounds quite like it, IMO.
Sale: For an outright sale, a local vendor/luthier suggested the value to be somewhere between $600 and $800. So, Asking price is $500 + Shipping OBO. I think it's a fair price, but if you have a different opinion, let me know. I'm not looking to gouge anyone. I paid little less than that several years ago and I believe the value of these has been increasing..
Trade: Looking mainly to trade up or down for the right P-bass: 50s reissues in Sunburst, American standards in white w/maple neck, or some vintage P's.

The bridge pickup barks like a mutha and, when blended with the neck, really does the trick. The baritone switch provides a subtle and interesting change in the voice: more woof and growl that you can't quite get anywhere else, IMO.
And it looks sexy too. Why am I selling it? |
