Bass traded 11/2/2010.
I bought this bass brand new from Bass Central in August of last year. It has been babied and played for only a matter of hours. Never been gigged and has left my home only once to go to the studio. Has the original strings and they are still lively. This bass is in perfect condition other than a very tiny depression in the lacquer finish on the lower body wing on the flamed maple edge. I will include images of this blemish shortly. My reason for this feele: I need to sell or trade down as I have use for some extra cash right now. If not for the money need, no way would I part with this bass. This bass is standard specs from Ken's factory. 2-3 tuner design, 18 volt pre, 18mm bridge spacing, 34 inch scale etc. Bass is as it was when I received it new, no modifications.
I am open to trade offers so long as the cash back is in the $1,000 to $2,000 area. I would rather trade if the right bass comes along, so I'm not down a bass in the stable, but could sell outright and purchase another bass. Street price on a new Black Tiger Elite is $5,625, what I paid for it. I would love to see the $4,000 area for this bass. I know there was one that sold recently for a couple hundred less so I'm flexible, but that's the ballpark area of value, I believe.
I will consider other Smith basses, preferably 5-strings but may consider anything, just run it by me. Roscoe basses, MTD's, etc. I am really pretty open as long as it's gently used as mine is.
