FT/FS: Valenti Vintage J5/Sadowsky pre/Nordy DC5's

Sign in to disble this ad
Trying very hard to get down to two basses and stay there, have one fretless already, need a fretted to match it.
Also, ive already outright bought a bass so im trying to keep this in trades, could add some cash for the right trade up...its crazy how many people are trying to sell basses now, when it seems not many have much money to spare. Thanks for looking!

LOOKING FOR A FRETTED BASS OF SIMILIAR BUILD, *POSSIBLY* A NICE GUITAR OR TENOR SAX

Valenti Specs: Vintage J5 #041

Has 5 confirmed Pedulla kills
Alder Body
Sherwood Green Metallic Finish w/Matching headstock
Maple neck w/Epoxy coated, lined Ebony fretboard
34" scale length
1 7/8" @ nut
12" Radius
Weighs roughly 9 lbs
Graphite Reinforced neck
Nordstrand DC5 pickups
Sadowsky VTC Preamp
Mint/Black/Mint Pickguard
Chrome Hardware
Hipshot B Style Bridge
Hipshot Ultralites Tuners
Contoured heel for easier access to the upper frets
Soft Case
Built in 2006

It's previous owner had the frets professionally removed and had the board maple lined and finished in high gloss epoxy similar to a Pedulla Pentabuzz. He also installed a Sadowsky VTC preamp to replace the original Aguilar pre.

This bass is in flawless condition, there is some small scuffing at the end of the fingerboard, but there is little to no wear on it otherwise and the body is factory fresh

ADDITIONAL PICS: http://s256.photobucket.com/albums/h...0FL%205%20New/

Older FS thread for reference on the re-finished fingerboard and such-- Valenti Vintage Fretless J5 #041

It has a very modern tone, does P bass and Jaco tones well. It has the nicest preamp i have ever encountered, great action and noticeable difference in tone when even slightly adjusted. If i lived anywhere near a good luthier i would drop the 200 something dollars to get it refretted and keep it, but its actually cheaper to trade it for a similiar bass.

PRICE DROP----$1650-------PRICE DROP OBO, SHIPPING INCLUDED, would like to keep this to trades as its cheaper on both ends.

Hit me with trades, will trade down plus cash, shipping to AK roughly $70-90 through UPS, so don't be scared of OCONUS guys!

more pics, and the "fatfinger" sustain enhancer is more a luck thing to me than function, if you were wondering

No coil tap, does have a preamp bypass switch that alters the sound quite a bit though

The bass was originally wired with a 3 way mini switch for (I believe) Series/Single Coil/Parallel.

I was sure there used to be something where that little black "button" between the tone and blend knobs are, i assumed it was blocked off when the new preamp was installed...
