I purchased this Warwick in February from TBer lillinator, who was the second owner - the original owner put some dings into the bass but it has since been well cared for. Here are the specs straight from Warwick's website:
Made on 08/11/2002, Honey Violin Oil finish, Swamp Ash / A Flamed Maple top body, Ovangkol neck / wenge fretboard, Gold hardware
The second owner made some upgrades to the bass: the original bridge pickup was swapped for a Seymour Duncan MM pickup and the pre was replaced with a 3-band Seymour Duncan pre with push/pull slap contour. The nut was swapped for a Just-A-Nut III. All knobs have been swapped from the original gold to Seymour Duncan black plastic.
THE BAD - when I purchased the bass, half of the G string tuning peg had snapped. It doesn't effect the intonation or sustain of the string. About a month ago the E string tuning peg snapped as well. At that point I Googled the subject and found that this is a common occurrence for Warwicks from this era - they were shipped a bum set of tuners and folks all over the world have experienced this snapping.
This is kind of a dream bass for me - I'd wanted a Warwick since I was a kid. BUT I've recently been craving the feel/tone of a Fender P or P/J 5. The cash value of the Warwick is around $1100-1200 - the original bridge pickup (and a Seymour Duncan J pickup which wouldn't fit in the bass without routing), hardware and pre-amp are included in the auction.
Pictures to follow ASAP - I'm leaving for a gig in five hours, it might not happen until we're in Provincetown. Shoot me an offer if you're interested.
