Hey everyone!
Up for your consideration is my 2011 Fender American Special jazz bass asking $475.00 and buyer pays shipping.

I purchased this bass from a super fellow TBer "funkucan'ttouch" about 4 months ago (divorce sale). : (

It has the candy apple red finish and is upgraded with EMG single coils as well as a super quiet EMG preamp. The 9v battery is located underneath the white pearlized pick guard. The previous owner swapped out the factory bridge saddles for graphite saddles and also moved the input jack to the bottom side of the bass instead of on the knob plate. I just strung it up with a brand new set of D'Addario half wounds....

I currently own two Spectors that I actually like the feel of them a bit more than the Fender so I'm looking to sell my Fender to partly finance a new Spector I'm looking at.

Included is a soft gigbag with the axe as well as the original saddles.
It does have it's mild dings but nothing severe, actually you have to strain to see them.

The American Special is a middle of the road line from Fender. They are actually manufactured here in the USA. They have a very slim a fast jazz neck. It's a sweet bass IMHO, I just prefer the feel of my Spectors, and since Spectors mainly come with Rosewood fretboards I wanted a maple fret board so I purchased this Fender.

Here's a link to the Fender American Special:

Thanks ! : )

I'm interested -

What's it weigh?

Does it have the double graphite rods in the neck?
(built 2008 or after)

What's the Serial # ?

Thanks. You can PM me if you'd prefer.
Much appreciated

Hey Thor,

Weight is 9 lbs according to my dust ridden bathroom scale. I'm really not TOO sure about the rods in the neck.... never occurred to me to ask or even think about it, perhaps on the Fender website it might have that detail. Built in 2010. According to the previous Talk Bass owner "funkucan'ttouch", he had it for 8 months but had to sell it because he was going through a divorce.

The serial number is: US10240610

Hope this helped,

peace

This is a lot of bass for $475 yall. If you like thin jazz necks and basses that have great feel and balance, this be the one.

I paid $870 new for mine and I feel like I got a great deal.

Thanks Stranger Danger! I appreciate the love! Yes it is a lot of bass for the dough especially with the upgraded electronics and graphite saddles.

I'm just digging on Spectors and there's one I'm gassing over!

Thanks again !
