I was in the process of building this one, and had my playing situation change drastically, so I no longer need this bass.
The refin on this body is very good. It was done by a friend of mine who is a professional painter that wanted to give a guitar finish a shot. It has been sanded, primered and multi coats of color and then hand waxed for a vintage, matte type finish. It has a few dings from me doing a rout (kinda rough, but it's under the guard) for the pre-amp I purchased for it, but nothing terrible. It looks great all decked out with it's vintage clothes on
Squier P/J Body (refinished in Shoreline Gold)
Fender MIM P and J pups
Fender MIM lined Fretless Jazz neck w/ tuners and tree
bassmods 2 Band Pre (bass and treble cut / boost) (V/ B / stacked Bass and treble)
Pup Cover
Tug Bar
I also have a Lollar J bridge pup to install in this as well that will be included. It needs a lead re-soldered, but otherwise is in excellent shape
The pre is not in it yet, and the passive wiring is a bit janky right now. It will need new pots and wiring if someone wants to use this passively, but the preamp will go right in and everything is included to run this active. I did wire nut the pre in (nothing soldered) just to make sure it was gonna work and it sounded great. I would like to keep this project together for trading and shipping purposes, but I would consider parting it out if the need is there, in order to move it.
Trade wise I am looking for something fretted that I can get a passive vintage tone from - squier P or J bass VM or CV series maybe even the Standard series (not affinity), MIM P or J bass,
nicer or upgraded Essex / Douglas, (not really looking for a P/J setup), Peavey Fury or Patriot, anything else that fits in this genre.
edit* this neck is really clean - has not worn rounds, ever, and has no nicks or gouges at all in the board
