Hey all,
I'm reposting this due to not being able to redo the title of the thread.
I've recently made a few bass purchases and also been accepted into Nursing School (yay for career changes!) and have a 4 month old daughter... so funds have gotten a little tight.
This leads me to need to sell my beloved 2001 G&L USA L-2500, in a gorgeous tobaccoburst finish, with matching headstock that was made for the '01 NAMM show. It also is a bit unique in that has no fretboard dots on it, which gives the neck a nice, clean look.
I purchased this bass new from BassNW in Seattle in early '02, and it has lived a pampered life in my rehearsal studio ever since, having been gigged on only a handful of occassions.
The neck is the bi-cut design, with two neck halves and the fretboard (3 piece) rather than the newer 2 piece design.
It currently has straplocks on it, but the original G&L strap buttons are included in the OHSC.
There's a few tiny dings in the upper radius of the bass, but no buckle rash, and you have to be looking for them to notice. The bass presents very well and is a solid 9.5/10 with very little play time, as this was accquired in the latter days of my old roots rock band, and my main axe for the band I've been in the last 8 years is an older P-bass.
The bass is well set up and intonated, and freshly strung through body (after these pics were taken) with DR Sunbeams.
The B-string is nice and focused and the range of tones from this bass and it's tri-tone passive electronics and eq with active boost make it versatile for just about any kind of music, with monster output, even in passive mode (which is normally how I play it). The series/parallel switch give it two pretty distinct voicings, in addition to the pickup selector switch.
Comes with a functional, but not perfect OHSC that has a few of the feet broken off (I have used it to tote around my backup on tours/gigs, and therefore it has a lot more wear than the bass)
If I could afford to keep it and not put some cash back in savings, I would, as I will eventually be playing in a band where this is more appropriate, but for the moment, it makes more sense to sock some money away. That said, I am open to trade offers!
I am most interested in a low to mid-level Jazz style bass. Preferably something with a maple fretboard, but would consider rosewood. Think along the lines of a blocked/bound Geddy sig model. I would consider the right SX as well. I'm hoping to find someone with a decent 4 string jazz who wants to upgrade a bit to a nice 5 string. If you've got such a bass and some cash on your end, lets make something work. Otherwise I would like to see $1075 Shipped in the CONUS

I didn't see anything about a case or gig bag, do you have either for this bass?

I thought I had a trade going with Mr. Pickles, but where has he gone?...If you're out there Mr. Pickles...drop me a line. Otherwise, I am feeling more focused than ever in my desire for a sweet jazz. Preferrably Maple fretboard. Who's got a Geddy gathering dust?
