FT/FS: MTD 635/24 Ash/Ash/Maple

Sign in to disble this ad
Relist - my Inbox has filled up with inquiries on this bass but no sale as of yet.

$2800 shipped fee free or trade for Ash/Maple or Ash/Morado NYC Sadowsky JJ5. I am looking for a particular sound to compliment my Tulip/Wenge MTD 535/24, so this is the only trade I'm interested in right now.

Specs:
Ash Body
Burl Maple Top
Maple Fingerboard
Ash Neck
10.0 lbs
Serial #1527, build date 5/16/2007

This bass is in immaculate condition. Not a scratch on it.

I absolutely love the sound and playability of this bass. Super low action with NO fret buzz. I'm just more comfortable on a 5.

I would describe the tone as having a strong fundamental with articulate highs. It's a bit punchier than the other Ash/Maple/Walnut MTD I used to own. I was equally pleased with both the slap tone and punchy fingerstyle tones I could get with minimal EQing.

I'm sure a lot of others feel the same way in that I really wish I could seriously consider getting this one... If my former 635 had a top like this I wouldn't have sold it.

Just one question - why is this bass still here?!! A great asking price on a gorgeous MTD - good luck with the sale (and the weather).

I'd venture a guess that most of the people on this forum that would pull the trigger on this bass are currently short on disposable income, myself included.

I've asked myself the same question countless times - It may sound like hyperbole on my part when I say how good it plays and sounds, but believe me whoever buys this bass is going to feel like they got an absolute steal.

I've had some questions over the color of the finish. The original photos were taken indoors with a flash and make the bass look more orange than it actually is. Here are some I took outside today.

1 word: Heartstopping.

I got my former 635 from Alphaman and at that time I had a bass he was willing to trade for... The difference today is that I have 1 main bass that I am keeping so disposable income is what I need.

Hmm not sure why you wouldn't be able to see the pics...I see the pics in this ad as well as those in the link just fine from all devices I log in from. I haven't heard of anyone else having issues seeing them either.

Ah, yes I see them now by viewing the full site.

The pics don't show when viewing the thread from the TB iPhone app. Strange, usually you can see them fine on there.

I bloody love that bass. Except for the 6th string; I'm also more comfy on a 5ver.

But still, I love that bass. Any soundclips?
