FT/FS: Traben Chaos Core 5 String with Aguilar Preamp

Sign in to disble this ad
Had to close out the old thread. I couldn't edit my initial post and the thread was a mess since I had so many deals go through.
----------------

Putting up my r Traben Chaos Core 5 string bass. I picked this up from a shop and had it shipped based on the specs. Plays and sounds great but I found that the 35 inch scale and wider spacing is a little more difficult for me. I have also picked up 34 inch scale Fender 5 that is easier for me to play. So the Traben must go. Now I'm really moving back to 4 stringers.

The Traben is in very good condition with some minor cosmetic issues (noted). Huge sounding bass with 2 MM style pickups and Aguilar pre. 5 way selector/coil tap switch. Lightweight, versatile bass that sounds great. Great B string on this model. Nice maple fretboard, it's fairly shallow and wide.

Cosmetic issues: It has a chip in the upper horn, a minor indentation on the neck (not really sure how to describe it but including for full disclosure) and the strap buttons appear to be glued in (not sure why). Neck, frets and electronics are in great shape.

Again, sounds huge, very warm and full. Coil tapping allows for a pretty good diversity of sound.

Asking $400 shipped USPS. No case, sorry.

Trades: 4 stringers (fenders, schecters preferred but will consider others). Amps/cabs (ampeg, peavey and hartke but again will consider others).

Trade bait for basses - I can add a little for the right deal. I am in desperate need of a decent 4 string.

Primary trade bait (4 stringers only, black or wood/stain pref):

- Fender Reggie Hamilton
- Fender Roadworn (P or J)
- Fender Hwy 1 (P or J)
- Fender Jazz 24
- Fender Geddy
- Fender Aerodyne
- Schecter Cali Custom
- Schecter Ultrabass
- LTD Phoenix
- Warwick Corvette

I'm very partial to Fenders and Schecter's.

suppose you'd be interested in a washburn t14? That chaos would look great next to my 2 other trabens.

Ha....not really into washburns unless they are the old classic ones from the 80s.
