Looking to try something new, so I am letting my fiver go -
1997 Warwick Thumb BO with all black hardware, 9v active electronics with MEC pickups, strap locks, brass nut, 100% handmade in Germany. This was the last year, to my knowledge, they made the thumb basses with the more expensive/exotic wenge wood. 1998 they went to the ovangkol wood necks. This bass was recently setup by Matt at Guitar Trader in San Diego and has a brand new set of DR High beams (3 weeks old).
Being 13 years old, she isn't perfect. The body and neck are near immaculate, however, here is a list of imperfections:
(1) The factory installed insert strap lock was removed (see the hole near input jack) and a new set of strap locks were installed to help solve the "neck dive".
(2) The plastic ring around the component compartment in the back has a crack.
(3) Even though the hardware is technically all black, her age is showing and some of the black finish is worn on the bridge.
I am looking for $1150 shipped lower 48. I know Thumbs have gone for less here, however, the neck is absolutely the most organic neck I have ever played and it being all wenge is a rarity. For an extra $40, I can throw in a new Carvin padded leather strap with the other end of the locks.

I would really prefer a trade with a fellow TBer, plus or minus cash.

might as well offer, it can't hurt.
