MOVED WITH DIFFERENT TITLE
Ok, Someone talk me out of this.
I have the prototype serial #0001 Callowhill J(unk) 5 built for Maurice Fitzgerald. It is basically a souped up Marcus Miller Jazz 5. It is natural ash with a birdseye maple and fretboard with inlays (pics to come). It sport a pair of Nordstrand NJ5s, a Sadowsky 2 Band pre w/VTC, and the Redeemer circut passive buffer system. It does have some finish checking on the lower rear (under the strap peg). The craftsmanship is phenomenal, and it weighs in at around 8 pounds. It plays amazing and looks killer.
Soon after I got the bass I took it to my tech (used to tech for Skynyrd,Mollly Hatchet, and other 70's rockers) and he gave it a clean bill of health and set it up with medium Chromes. I plays like butta!
Alas, I have a new gig that calls for a p-bass. Therefore, in the Talkbass inspired frenzy that we here call G.A.S., I am looking to
possibly trade this bass for a nice, and I mean nice precision. I am looking for either a vintage or custom shop P. And I really, really love the cream/white and rosewood combo. oh, and 4 string only. Gotta keep it original baby.
As for a cash price, I really have no Idea... Tim charges around $2600 for a basic Hill and considering this ones history I really don't know how to price it. But, per TB rules I will start with a price tag somewhere around $2000. However, I do reserve the right to come to my senses!
Thanks, And pictures to come later. But for now here is a link to the previous owner's youtube channel where he talks about the bass in depth.
