Here's the spiel ... '06 Garz Single-Cut 4. Plays like a dream! A TB'er who owned it prior to me called it "A work of art" ... and I would have to fully agree! It was originally built for TB's own WestCoastBass. Fit and finish is top notch. Super well balanced. It's a 34" scale, but due to it's body shape, it plays more like a 32/33" bass. Like all Garz basses, the neck is wicked comfortable, and super solid ... I've yet to have to adjust it (even in the drastic seasonal changes here in Western NC). I even have to retune it much less than my Elrick! Tone-wise the bass is very versatile, much to do with the Swamp Ash body, and Audere 3ZB preamp ... the battery light for the Audere is smartly located next to the input jack (mounted on a Wenge Plate).
** I've had a quite a few "Q's" about it's Tone/Sound ... so here's what I usually write ... the Barts sound, well like Barts. Since they are humbuckers, they have more of an "airy" tone and a bit deeper than soapbars (more low end and lower mids than soapbars). With the Audere ... the bass really opens up more tonal possibilities ... while having your controls set at a constant, with just a flick of the "Z" switch, you can change it to a "slap/fingerstyle" tighter more high mids and treble tone, or a deeper "P" tone with lower mids, as well as a "regular/classic" tone.
All in all I'd say this bass can just about handle any situation. IMO ... it's sound is Alembic-esque. Rock, jazz, funk ... it can all be accomplished. Chords and tapping is where this bass accels, as it's pretty harmonic, and clear. The Cocobolo board has an Ebony tone to it. The Swamp ash body helps bring some growl to the party, especially when the bridge PU is solo'd. It's got a nice slap tone as well, but I wouldn't classify it as a "slapper" ... not like a jazz bass or Kubicki.
Condition ... all in all a very well cared for bass. Frets have very little wear. There are no dings, chips or scratches in the neck or headstock. The top of the bass is clean, except for some thumb wear between the neck and the first pickup, due to the prior owner resting his thumb there. On the back of the bass is some buckle rash on the lower part of the electronics cover/corner of the bass; some scratches here and there on the back of the bass (too hard to capture with a camera). All electronics work as they should. Specs - Body: Swamp Ash with Wenge top (Wenge matched headstock)
- Neck: 5pc Mahogany and Purpleheart (with dual graphite stiffening rods)
- Board: 24 fret Cocobolo
- Pickups: Dual Bartolini M3 Humbuckers
- Preamp: Audere 3ZB (vol, blend, treble, mid, bass ... Active/Passive and "Z" switches)
- Hardwear: Hipshot bridge and tuners, Recessed strap locks
- Other Specs: 1.5" @ Nut, 19mm string spacing @ bridge, 8.5lbs.
Includes Pro Tec soft sided hard case. Trades: 4's or 6's, 5'vers or fretless 5'vers. PJ's are a plus! Higher end basses ... Alembic, Tobias, Modulus, Pedulla, Elrick, Kubicki, Kinal, Sadowsky, Lull, Skjold, Spector, Fender Stu Hamm II's ... you get the picture. Please no dual humbuckered basses & single PU'd basses will have to blow me away! Trades + $$ (your end, amount to be neg) ... Peavey Cirrus (maple bodied is a +), Peavey Bromberg ($ or straight depending on condition), Ibanez Prestige (SR not BTB), Alembic loaded Aria's, G&L fretless', EBMM Bongo J/MM's, MTD KZ's, Lakland Skylines, Yamaha's .... Also a BOSS GT-6B.
... Shoot me anything interesting ... little known custom builders don't scare me either *** My trade value of this bass is $1,300(+) ***
Here's some bass porn ... for those who are very interested ... PM me for more pics! (Since taking the pics ... I've swapped the strings for some DR Black Beauties)
Thanks for looking!!!

As far as a $$ price ... due to the sluggish economy, I'm currently just looking to trade. Besides, with my uncontrollable GAS ... any $$ would probably go to another bass anyway.
However I might trade for $$ ... if interested shoot me a PM ... perhaps we can work something out.

Yea, the trade that's currently in limbo (hopefully a tech can make the other bass all better) is making me GAS for some graphite. It's been a while since I've had some graphite in my stable. Hopefully it goes through ... there's a chance it won't, so in case ... I'm still taking trade offers. Quote:

| | M E T S ... Mets, Mets, Mets! | | Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: NC. Residential Tourist | | This is my last week of trade limbo ... not sure if the bass that has been offered will get fixed, and is looking very doubtful ...
SO, in case the trade on the table doesn't go through ... feel free to shoot me a PM with offers!
The trade on the table has me GAS-N for something Graphite ... OR a 6-String bass ... offers with those go to the top of the list. 24 Fret basses are a big +
** 6'ers can either be straight trade or Trade + $$ - your end. String spacing must be at least 17mm. Please no Rondo basses ... nothing wrong with them; just not what I'm looking for.
I may be looking to sell as well ... so feel free to shoot me offers (see my trade value for a price guide).
Cheers!
