I'm sorry to put this bass on the market. It has one of the best B strings on the face of the planet and I'd describe the tone as a Bongo but more. A bit warmer and darker with a sweeter top end. Unfortunately it has a bit more of a reach than my shoulder can handle and I can't seem to find a position where I can play it for more than an hour without lots of pain. I have a long history of shoulder issues and my body is picky when it comes to basses. So for now, my G&L L1505 is still my baby.
So for the uninitiated, these are the premier dealer network basses that were made available this year. There were only 100 made and there won't be any more. I'd value this basses trade value in the 1700-1800 range, maybe more depending on how much of a sucker you are for birdseye . All things considered though, It is a rare beast with options that aren't available. Sale price would be 1700.00 SHIPPED!
The Specs:
Mahogany body (not available outside of this run)
Sick roasted birdseye maple neck
Pau Ferro board
Stainless steel frets
34" scale
9 pounds
I'm not sure why this bass doesn't ring my bell, but as many of you know, sometimes it happens. There's not a scratch on it. Comes with HSC and candy.
This Bongo is gorgeous, it's light, it sounds like a Bongo but "more". What I'm looking for:
4 string Lakland basses
G&L basses - I'd love to get my hands on a vintage Wunkay or L2K + cash
Fenders are hit or miss for me. I am a fan of the Roscoe Beck and J basses, most of these would be a + cash dealio.
Warwick Streamers
I'm open to other basses as well. I'm fine with + cash offers but I won't be able to add anything to deals, so keep that in mind when you offer up your basses; this includes gear. I don't have any extra gear laying around to sweeten deals, sorry.
I'd love to have a 4 string to compliment my 5'er, but I'm good with another 5 string as well. I prefer 34" scale and it has to be 18mm spacing or smaller on the 5 strings.
I'm also interested in cabinets and heads + cash. SO hit me up with your quality heads and cabinets. I'm a fan of Eden and GK heads and Bergantino cabs. I realize it's a pain to ship cabinets so we can work on the +cash part. They'd have to be bigger cabs though, I might need something more substantial than my 212.
That's about it. Here are some high quality pics that I was given from TPB. They do the bass justice although the neck figuring is much more prominent in person; it's gorgeous!
**New Pics**
Thanks!
Dan

2012 Rickenbacker 4003 Fireglo (I would want $100 difference or you cover shipping Ric)
SWR Mo' Bass Amp
Phil Jones M-500 (fan occasionally makes noise - should be replaced)
Pedaltrain Pedalboard (largest one they make)
EBS Pedals
Aguilar Octamizer
Got a ton of other items of all sorts (high quality camera lenses, guitars, drums) but they are not on your list of trades.
If nothing else enjoy a free bump. Bongos are great.

Bump for a really beautiful looking bass. GLWTS.

There have been some great offers but im not in a huge rush and nothing has really caught my eye as of yet. Thanks for all the folks who offered up their gear. Im going to give this a few days and see what pops up. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
