FT: Ken Smith MS5 neck thru

2002 Ken Smith MS-5 in excellent condition. Flamed Maple body wings, three piece thru body rock Maple neck, 24 fret Morado fingerboard. 9 volt pre, no dip switches. Right around 9 pounds. Standard Smith string spacing, which I believe is 18.3mm or so. Smith-o-philes (or Ken) can say for sure. The signature "Smith" tone. Smith hsc in very good condition. Trade interests: high quality, excellent condition fretted five string bass - i.e. Sadowsky NYC, Nordy, MTD, Skjold, F Bass. Whoa is me.....Whoa is me....i have the most Killing STATUS (Better than Mark Kings) bass and made a vow to be buried with it....but this Ken is hurting my feelings....i also have a Custom Brubaker 6 being worked on by Kevin..when it comes back...i can make some "Crucial Decisions".....lol

Excellent bass (light for a Smith at around 9lbs) and excellent Tb'r who will "be there" until the transaction is complete (no matter how long) One of the best to do business with, in my book.

I've always been able to dial in that great "Smith tone" sans switches. Great bass!

Hey B.R.S.,

How would you characterize the low B string? They're never perfectly matched to the higher strings, are they -- they're almost inevitably a tad woolier, less distinct and tight. But is this one pretty good? Growl? Pitch focus?

This particular instrument is very punchy, probably due to all of the Maple. The low "B" is very good indeed and has very good focus and definition IMO.
