Trade feeler:
Here's a fun and funky Metropolitan Tanglewood Custom bass. One of just a few made. I'm off to practice and will add more info later this evening. http://s1178.photobucket.com/albums/...%20Map%20Bass/

Handmade in Texas in the late 90s with a list price of $3495 - the first one was pink and made for Tom Peterson of Cheap Trick. This model was featured in a 2006 Vintage Guitar Magazine article. It's a 34" scale, set neck, 1-3/4" at the nut and weighs 9lbs 10oz. Pearl mint green finish on an African Fakimba body, ebony board, real inlays, binding, German carved top and back, gingerbread, chrome and custom parts everywhere. The pickups are Rio Grande Pitbulls and the bass has a bold, deep tone to match its looks. Has a few dings and some cosmetic wear but nothing that takes away from the visual impact. The pics in the Photobucket link in my first post pretty much say it all. http://www.metropolitanguitars.com/tanglewood.html |

Forgot to mention the case in the pics is included - it has the Metropolitan logo and is original to the bass. |

Yeah, I believe Metropolitan Guitars, Rio Grande Pickups and Robin Guitars are all the same folks.
I saw Los Straitjackets last year and they were easily as good or better than they were 10 years ago. |
