I'm putting out a feeler to see if there is any interest in my MTD Saratoga. This is not the newer passive version. This is the older (much nicer) version.
Here are the features:
34" scale 4 string
24 medium jumbo frets
Zero fret 1 5/8" wide, 4 string
Zero fret 1 7/8" wide, 5 string
Hipshot bridge, 3/4" (19mm) spacing
One-piece neck w/satin polyester finish
Carved basswood body (8mm thick figured maple top)
Master volume, blend, bass, treble, midrange select
Bartolini J pickups
Copper foil shielded electronics compartment
Buzz Feiten Tuning System
Below are some pictures. As you can see, mine has Barts that do not have exposed pole pieces. I'm not sure if they were upgraded to standard Barts at some point or not.
Mint condition. This thing will take a super-low setup that rivals my Warrior Signature 4. Tone is terrific.
THOUGHTS ON A TRADE.
My only real stipulation for a trade is that it must be a 4 string. Don't lowball. Love this bass, but you know how it is when you get curious about other possibilities. I've got a Warrior with active Barts, and am thinking a good passive bass is in order.
Here's a soundclip. I'm not putting it up for the stellar playing. This was me working on improvising solos. Clearly I need a lot of work.
Anyway, the chords are my Warrior, the first solo is the Warrior (bridge pickup), the second solo (starting at 2:25) is a standard American jazz with flats, the third solo (starting at 4:07) is this MTD. The signal path was MTD to GK M200 to Lexicon Alpha to MacBook. No EQ, compression, or effects on the MTD in the computer. It was panned middle and bass onboard was boosted, treble was slightly boosted.
