FT/ My BSR5GN For Your BT Custom

Sign in to disble this ad
FT/ is my Ken Smith BSR5EG. Really only interested in a BT Custom with the black headstock and the earlier 2 band Smith pre. My bass is number 2000 out of the Ken Smith shop and is in pristine condition. NO nicks, scratches, etc. Below are the specs of my bass:

BSR Elite 5G
Neck: 5 Piece laminated aged hard rock maple and morado with graphite inlaid bars

Fingerboard: Macassar Ebony with Mother of Pearl Top and Side Dots

Body Wings: 5 Piece laminated wings with contrasting laminates; Walnut core

Finish: Hand rubbed high gloss catalyzed lacquer over Stradivari Gold Oil

Hardware: Gold

Electronics: Series/Parallel Switches with Smith B.M.T 3 Band EQ Circuit and Smith custom bass humbucking soapbar pickups\

Again not selling, looking strictly to trade.

Thanks for looking

Its more than the shape, the older Vintage ones with the 2 band pre sound MUCH MUCH BETTER!!!!
Its a cleaner tone thats sweeter and not as harsh as the 3 band pre,its also thicker!!

right right, i was just saying, i see a lot of ppl w/ the BSR shape now a days as opposed to the BT. I think the vintage shape looks the best.
Yeah I was checkin out some vid on youtube, someone playing a late 80's BT, man that thing sounds sick, it had that real "ping" sound on the treble that I really like. I heard that "ping" sound only comes out on a neck-thru, does anyone know about that?

If they're so much better, then hows comes Mr Ken Smith doesn't start making them all with 2 band eqs again?

Ken' told me sometime ago the some players wanted a mid control so in 93 he introduced the 3 band eq which also sounds good BUT not as clean and piano like sound as the 2 band bass and treble cuircuit.
Most Smith' players truly prefer the older Vintage Smith;s over the current.
Problem is finding one to compare as they are very hard to find, but once you do you will know why!!
