Angry FT: Nash '51 P w/J pup.........Looking for a Nash Jazz or AVS '62 Jazz

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought this bass on pure impulse about a month and a half ago from Brian at The Low End. It visually drips mojo and has the smoothest neck I have ever played on a P bass. When I got her home and took her to practice I realized it wasn't gonna get much use..........I just flat out need a Jazz Bass. So, here's what you got.......a Bill Nash '51 P w/J @ the bridge in 2-tone burst. The pickups are handwound Jason Lollars........the neck pup is a traditional '51 P split-coil and the bridge is a split-coil J. So, the bass is dead silent if either pickup is soloed out alone. It also has a stacked vol/tone config for each pickup and the neck pup has the cover for it. Comes with the Nash HSC and all the tags and paperwork. Now, I am looking for trades only right now. You can run anything by me, but I am truely looking for either a Nash Jazz in Black, 3-Tone Burst, or Buttercream or a Fender '62 US RI. This one is full of vintage growl like you haven't heard in awhile so come and get it!!!!

My scales say between 8-9lbs. Which is not bad considering it's a solid swamp ash body w/maple neck.

Thanks I think to people who haven't actually played Bill Nash's basses they seem like a novelty...........like he's just the guy who makes the beat up basses. I'm here to tell you.....and I'm positive that anyone who's owned one will back me......that Bill's work will rival that of any Fender custom shop, sadowsky, lull, or any other high-end jazz maker. So, don't let skepticisim keep you from a great trade!!!

I'm really not looking for a cash sale, but money can talk to me I'm really looking for a straight up trade or maybe $100 or so to the plus on my side for the right jazz. I would love a Nash jazz. I am open to Fender AMERICAN MADE RI jazz basses..........more specifically the '62 and '64 RI's. Anyways, about cash sales.....I'm open to reasonable offers. I paid $1750 the 2nd week of November.

Confused: both pickups are single coil (not split coil)(?). With that bridge pickup what you have there is essentially a Jazz bass. But, are the controls still volume/tone?

The neck pickup is a split-coil '51 style P-pickup and the bridge is a split-coil jazz........I'm assuming because it's dead silent when soloed appart from the P-pickup.

Still confused. The 51's had (have) a single coil; not the split coil (the double off-set) of later and current P basses.
