FT Only Feeler: 1983 Fodera Monarch

This is a VERY light feeler….I picked this amazing Fodera up recently from TB’er and great player Mike Bendy. Not much to say about it, amazing player and flawless build as you would expect. After doing about half dozen gigs with it, mostly more rock stuff, I am kind of missing a P bass/humbucker in my set up. For some reason I don’t love J-bass set-up (I am probably one of the few I know….).

Details from Mike:

Monarch Deluxe:..
-34" Scale
-24 Frets
-Curly Ash Body with Indian Rosewood liners
-3 piece Maple neck
-Indian Rosewood Fingerboard w/ Tulip inlays
-Original EMG J/J Pickups
-Original Fodera Preamp
-Chrome Hardware

Serial # is 0030 and I think Wootens is 0037 so this is pretty much in the ballpark as his. Bass is is great shape for its age and for having an oil finish, the curly ash is SICK in person, almost 3D like..

The only real trades I would consider at this point are…
- Similar era Fodera (80’s) but with a P bass pickup
- Alleva Copollo KPB 4 + Cash
- Wal 4 (Preferably Older)
- Maybe something Smith, Ken Lawrence or Carl Thompson, but would have to be earlier builds and not be a JJ set-up

I may leave this for just a few days, definitely like this bass A LOT and invested a good bit of $$ on it, just being picky and seeing if I can find something w/ a tone a little more up my alley.

We are talking...

BTW Per Mike...the holes were plugged in with Indian ebony for the customer back in 83 because he wanted a three way toggle switch. Those aren't holes by the toggle, kind of hard to tell in the pics...
