FS/FT: Peavey TL 6 18v Preamp

Sign in to disble this ad
I picked this up months back here on talkbass and its a great bass that gets lots of looks and compliments. Iv gigged it out maybe 15 times and its been great. But the string spacing difference between it and my Corvette just doesn't work well for me. Here is the original thread

TL-6 18VOLT PREAMP BLUE

I replaced the 3 plastic knobs with 3 gold dome knobs and it looks great.

I am dropping the price because it has been brought to my attention that the paint job was not done in factory. Its not a bad paint job and it actually , like I said , gets a lot of compliments it is just not something Peavey would of done in house. The Preamp is something like an 18v Might Might or other korean import. It doesn't sound bad at all. Very even Volume from each string. The EMG's really make this thing talk. After the repaint they replaced one of the tuners upside down. No one would know until they attempted to tune it Truss rod is in good shape and works, however I don't have a tool. What I did was take a 5/16 socket and an allen wrench and gave it a few tweeks. Heres the new pics:

Cash price would be $450 OBO shipped. Trades, im open to any 6er. Hollowbody, or 12/8 stringers.

Talking

Have you still got the TL6? Been looking for one, and I live on Merritt Island. Been trying to adapt to a Conklin GT7 I bought from Jorge Schroeder, not working for me. Could do cash next week, or an even swap for the GT7. Or I could sell the GT7 here, but that would take a while. Let me know what you think.

Dang it!!!!!

MNairhead!!! You have to leave a couple for the resț of us!!!! Lol.

My pm's don't seem to go through when sent from my blackberry, but that is all I have for the next couple of days. I do seem to be receiving though, so all you TL sellers leave your personal phones or emails in a pm to me so we can set chat about them. Can't buy them all at once, but with luck I can get one every couple of weeks.

Thanks folks, kevin

How is that a prototype?

Looks like a stock TL6 to me. Somebody added EMGs after the fact, and drilled out one more hole in the body. If it were a proto, it would not say "TL-6 tm" on the headstock....

Could you please tell me how much is the space between strings at bridge? thanks,
it seems that with the Khaler bridge you can have some space adjustment...
anyway it's a miracle to have yet those 6 Peavey protos!

long time ago i remember to have seen Tim Landers gigin' with a pair of TL6 and TL5,arff...

Well the original thread said a Peavey prototype BODY, so the neck would have been stock.

So the controls would be:
volume
blend
treble cut/boost
mid-range cut/boost or notched?
bass cut/boost
Is there a cover for the truss rod?

midrange Is notched. But you have the correct controls.
The truss rod has no cover, it does not even have holes drilled for it yet.
