Up for trade I have a 5 string R-bass that Ray originally made for himself!
This thing is ridiculous, but due to a hand injury last year I'm finding 4 strings to be easier to handle over long periods of time. booo. so I'm considering breaking up my two chestnut topped R-basses(the 4 will be staying).
The only flaw with this bass, which is hardly noticeable, professionally repaired and does not affect playability or tone at all, is a small crack in the base of the fretboard, below the 24th fret...again, barely noticeable without searching. I had forgotten about it for almost 6 months until recently.
As for the specs:
5 strings
34 inch scale
19mm spacing
around 10lbs
ash body
horse chestnut top and headstock front
maple/walnut 5 piece bolt on neck
Ebony fretboard(24 frets)
nordstrand big single and MM5 pickups
Aguilar OBP-3 preamp
Hipshot hardware
Dunlop recessed strap locks
Rosewood pickup covers
walnut layer between the ash and chestnut top
walnut fretboard dots
As for trades: I am interested in 4 string basses of the more "traditional" sort...not into Gibson or Ric's though. Fender-esque basses plus cash would be ideal. so shoot me some offers!
