If I could find someone with a mint/near mint R5L in a cool color combo with the Reverend case I would trade straight across. Likewise a mint/near mint Bongo 5 with case....even. Not too sure about the G&L. I like the punch and the output, but they sound a little sterile. I used to own an R5L and after playing the BH5 for a couple of years I realize I miss the sound of the R5L.

Let me know if you can think of anyone who might want to trade.

Thanks

Could you try to describe the tonal difference between the 5L and the Houser? Doesn't the Houser have a different neck shape than the 5L? Thanks.

I am not sure about the shape of the neck, but it is a little wider. As far as difference in tone I would say the BH5 has way more possibilities than the R5L. The BH5 was three way selector swithces for each pickup and a volume for each pickup while the R5L has one three way selector and one volume that controls both pickups. The R5L seems to me to be a brighter, more punchy sound. The BH5 is more darker, smoother sounding.

Hope this helps.
Anyone else want to help describe the neck and tonal differences?

The neck on the Houser is indeed wider, and a little deeper than the 5L; still very comfortable if you like full on 19mm spacing.

The Houser is darker and more organic sounding.
On the Houser, the mini switches give you single coil, dual parallel, and dual series for each pickup. The pickups are more traditionally placed on the Houser.

On the 5l, the mini is neck only/single coil; both pups wired dual prallel, both pups wired dual series. The spacing/placement of the 5L pups give you that funky, smei-scooped thing that makes a 5L a 5L.

Thanks Chef for helping there. I really didn't think it would be this hard to find a trade.
