FT/S: Spector NS-2A for your featherweight bass. PRICE DROP!

Sign in to disble this ad
NO LONGER TAKING TRADES. The bass is now strictly for sale at $350 shipped.

My shoulder and back just ain't what they used to be. On top of that, I love the Spector tone but not the Spector neck, so my NS-2A needs to find a new loving home.

Full disclosure, of course: The Spector isn't without problems. The previous owner was in way over his head with the paint job he applied, and it shows. The frets could stand a dressing, but it plays fine in the money frets. And one of the wires came loose from the battery terminal, but that's the work of three minutes if you have a soldering iron. I kept intending to drop a Hazlab in there, so I never got around to it. Plus, I don't have a soldering iron, which is why I'm not doing it now.

Oh, and the horrid bridge in the photo has been replaced by a Legend bridge, which is a drop-in correct replacement.

I'll see what I can do. My camera's packed away, and my cell phone doesn't take the best quality photos.

Indeed. I mentioned in the OP that I'd replaced that bridge with one from a Legend. PJ from Spector confirmed for me that it would drop in correctly as a replacement for an actual NS-2A bridge. The knobs I got from Allparts (IIRC), and are more correct to what shipped with these basses.

Spector Basses - Serial Numbers

Does anyone know if there is a site that lists the serial #s of Spector basses by year? I had a link to one and the site is gonzo. In particular, looking to find out where when #1633 was made.

MMMMMMMMMaybe. I'd have to really give it some consideration, though, as all my prior experiences with LP-shaped basses have involved considerable neck dive.

The control layouts are the giveaway and the Korean bodies aren't as curved and sculpted. The japan basses controls are forward and the Koreans are tucked under the bridge more . IMO these japans are the way to go , but I don't want to start that topic up again in this thread . But bump for one of my favorite basses .

Hmmm you are close. I am in Libertyville. I have an ultra light Squier Jaguar that plays amazingly well. Let me know if you are at all interested.

I'm waiting to hear back from a couple other possibly-interested parties, but I'll let you know.
