FT: Skjold Pro Series 5 (Mahogony/Maple)

This is killing me, but I have decided to entertain offers for one of my Skjolds. I love this bass, but I feel like I'm itching for something a bit more classic sounding (like a jazz or PJ).

Sale Price: $1675 Shipped (this would cost $2800 new!)

It has the '92 offset body style, 35" scale (but VERY playable because of the bridge placement and long horn), amazing B string, low action with no buzzing, a solid Mahogony body with a maple board/neck. Also has the cheaper Skjold/East 2-band pre-amp, that isn't as dynamic as the deluxe pre, but still sound great! Its got some maple knobs that I believe a former owner put on (not sure on that though). Will ship in a cheap HSC (doesn't go with the bass but will suffice for shipping). As far as interests, I might be tempted by a Lull, Sadowsky, Nordy, USA Lakland (make me any offers you might have...must be 5 string though). I can add cash, or you can add cash as needed.

PS- There is a good chance I will end up keeping this bass and I'm fine with that

according to my fish scale its a little under 8.5 lbs...definitely not heavy

I have never played one - How is the sound?

Bright? Do you have any clips?

hey man, I don't have any clips at the moment, but I could try to record a few (crappily) through the sound card on my computer. Let me know if you want me to do that.

As far as the sound goes, I'd say its fairly bright, but the mahogony body really deepens the sound. I actually think this one plays better (as far as feel) than my other skjold, but I love the looks and pre-amp in the other one so that's why this one is on the block.

just put a brand new set of Skjold strings on the bass...Sounds amazing.

trade plus cash is also an option if anyone has any basses in the $1000 range they want to trade (Lakland skyline, Musicman, Pedulla, etc...)

Yeah, I really haven't had too many offers either...I was really surprised. I do have a couple I'm thinking over though...I love the bass though so i'm not going to trade it unless its for something I REALLY want. Thanks for the bump!

It seems that times are slow ... even for trades.

I've been pretty surprised about the amount of trade offers I've received as well ... figured it'd be much higher. But I guess quality outweighs quantity.
